Despite being engaged to former Flavor of Love hottie Nicole “Hoopz” Alexander, The Big Man had been hoping to mosey his way into a May-December romance with America’s senior sweetheart, according to this side-splitting video posted to the hoopster’s Twitter account on Friday.
Shaquille O’Neal is throwing in the towel. After 19 years and four championship rings as a hoopster on various NBA teams — the Orlando Magic, the Los Angeles Lakers, and most recently the Boston Celtics — the larger-than-life NBA star announced his retirement from pro ball on Wednesday.
The extra time will give the divorced dad plenty of time to focus on his health. Shaq was recently diagnosed with sleep apnea, a disorder which causes sufferers to stop breathing mid-slumber.
Shaq is Top of the Pops! Pro hoopster Shaquille O’Neal, now a star with the Boston Celtics, put on a slam-dunk performance with the Boston Pops on Monday night. Basketball star Shaquille O’Neal picked up the tab for the funeral of Shaniya Davis after being moved by national news coverage about the 5-year-old North Carolina girl police say was sold into child prostitution by her mother, The Associated Press reports.
Authorities believe Shaniya was kidnapped, raped and murdered after being reported missing Nov. 10. Her body was found six days later on a roadside about 30 miles from her hometown of Fayetteville, North Carolina. Last Sunday’s memorial service was attended by more than 2,000 people. Love is a battlefield, folks — even when you’re famous! NBA star Shaquille O’Neal and his wife of six years are headed for Divorce Court. Shaunie O’Neal filed for legal separation for the 7-foot-1 star on Monday, PEOPLE Magazine reported this afternoon. The bombshell comes two years after the NBA start first started divorce proceedings.
Shaq and Shaunie split in September 2007 amid allegations that Shaunie was sleeping with her personal trainer and being secretive about her monetary assets. The couple reunited in August 2008 and vowed to work through their problems. But their efforts have not been successful, according to papers filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court on Monday.
Shaunie and the couple’s four children have abandoned the family’s Florida home and relocated to California, where she will likely have an easier time securing spousal support, PEOPLE reports. She is also seeking child support as well as legal and physical custody of their children. Shaq and Shaunie would have celebrated their seventh wedding anniversary in December.
