Tori Spelling has backed out of plans to appear on the first season of the eagerly-anticipated series, but celebrity moles say the show will feature an on-screen reunion between arch-enemies Jennie Garth and Shannen Doherty, whose legendary bitchy attitude earned her a pink slip from the original hit back in 1994. Looks like that petition to bring “Brenda Walsh” back to West Beverly Hills High paid off, after all. According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly’s resident TV snitch Michael Ausiello, head honchos at The CW are in formal talks to add actress Shannen Doherty to the cast of the network’s new Beverly Hill, 90210 spinoff, scheduled for a September 2008 premiere.

A few fans of the 90s-era television hit Beverly Hills, 90210 have launched an online petition to bring she devil Shannen Doherty back to West Beverly Hills High. Shannen, who portrayed sassy brunette Brenda Walsh on the original series, was booted from television’s most popular zip code in 1994 after flying into Full Bitch Mode on several of her co-stars. If fans get their way, the Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty star could land herself a role The CW’s new 90210 revival, debuting on the network this Fall.
