Looks like that petition to bring “Brenda Walsh” back to West Beverly Hills High paid off, after all. According to a new report from Entertainment Weekly’s resident TV snitch Michael Ausiello, head honchos at The CW are in formal talks to add actress Shannen Doherty to the cast of the network’s new Beverly Hill, 90210 spinoff, scheduled for a September 2008 premiere.

Shannen, who portrayed sassy brunette Brenda Walsh on the original series, was booted from television’s most popular zip code in 1994 after flying into Full Bitch Mode on several of her co-stars. If fans get their way, the Breaking Up with Shannen Doherty star could land herself a role The CW’s new 90210 revival, debuting on the network this Fall.
