The outspoken blonde brazenly referred to the leggy Kardashian sister with one of Wendy’s favorite catchphrases — a “donkey.” The comment caused Kardashian’s publicist Jonathan Cheban to slam 1995’s Miss USA in a scathing Twitter post: “WHT A A**HOLE WHORE GET A LIFE A TALENT AJOB,” he wrote.

The very-”zen” Khloe, on the other hand, has decided to take the high road in what could have become a Battle Royale between the C-listers.

“Who is shana moakler???” the newlywed Tweeted Tuesday afternoon. “I have no idea who this girl is but I guess she is talking about me. Talk on honey…I can care less LOL.”

Shanna has since apologized for the remark.

In June, pageant officials fired Prejean, who famously voiced her opposition to same sex marriage during the 2009 Miss USA pageant, prompting a feud with celebrity blogger Perez Hilton. At the time, Miss California officials claimed Prejean missed several scheduled appearances. She was replaced by Miss California runner-up Tami Farrell.

“On Ms. Moakler’s behalf, I can say unequivocally that Ms. Prejean’s lawsuit is without merit,” says Mel Avanzado, Moakler’s lawyer.

“More importantly, as everyone who watched or read her public statements is well aware, Ms. Prejean’s unfortunate and bigoted statements are responsible for any public humiliation or damages to her reputation that she has claimed to have suffered,” Avanzado added. “Ms. Moakler strenuously denies that she did anything wrong and looks forward to proving that in a court of law.”

After learning that former Miss California USA Carrie Prejean was stripped of her title on Wednesday due to breach of contract, Shanna Moakler, the former co-executive director of the Miss California Organization, has released a statement supporting the organization’s decision to oust Prejean.

Last month, Moakler, a former Miss California turned Miss USA, stepped down from her position with the organization after Miss USA pageant owner Donald Trump decided to allow Prejean, 22, to keep her title despite the emergence of semi-nude photos of her online.

In a statement to Entetainment Tonight, Shanna says:

“First and foremost, my faith has been restored in the Miss Universe Organization and with Donald Trump. I believed eventually what I intimately knew would come to fruition.”

In other Carrie news, TMZ also posted a couple of catty e-mails the bitchy blonde allegedly sent to pageant officials. In one e-mail Carrie wrote: “You do not cooperate with me, and you pick and chose [sic] the the [sic] things YOU want me to do. That is not happening anymore. Stop speaking for me. I have MY own voice.”

“Also I was asked to fill in for a dj on a local radio show.. I’ll be reading from a show biz script Monday. I am doing this,” she wrote in another.

Even The Donald is complaining about Prejean’s attitude with others: “To me she was the sweetest thing. Everyone else — she treated like shit.”

America’s most dysfunctional on-again, off-again couple are on…again. Shanna Moakler has confirmed that she has reunited with Blink-182 drummer Travis Barker.

The former Miss USA tells Star Magazine that the divorced couple — who have two young children together — are considering remarrying despite splitting up on numerous occasions in the past.

“[We are] 100 percent together,” Shanna reveals. “We are absolutely talking about one day renewing our vows. We love passionately, we fight passionately. That’s just who we are.”

Just when you thought the Miss California Saga had come to an end: Former Miss USA Shanna Moakler has resigned as executive director of the California State Pageant Organization, which runs the Miss California and Miss Teen California beauty contests, one day after after Miss Universe Organization owner Donald Trump allowed Miss California Carrie Prejean to keep her crown following a semi-nude photo scandal.

In statement released on Wednesday, Shanna says she simply can’t go on supporting the organization following Trump’s controversial decision to let Carrie Prejean keep her Miss California crown despite the young woman’s admission to taking semi-nude and topless photos as recently as last year.

“Since the press conference yesterday, I had a chance to think about what has taken place, and I feel that at this time it is in my best interest to resign,” Shanna says in the statment. “I cannot with a clear conscious move forward supporting and promoting the Miss Universe Organization when I no longer believe in it, or the contracts I signed committing myself as a youth.”

She continued, “I want to be a role model for young woman (sic) with high hopes of pageantry, but now feel it more important to be a role model for my children. I am sorry and hope I have not let any young supporters down but wish them the best of luck in fulfilling their dreams.”

After yesterday’s press conference in New York City, Carrie, 21, announced that she’ll be launching a campaign opposing gay marriage with the National Organization for Marriage. Shanna, on the other hand, announced that she’s appearing in a new ad supporting gay rights.

In an interview with celebrity journalist Billy Bush on Wednesday, Miss USA 1995 Shana Moakler, Co-Executive Director of the Miss California Organization, confirmed that the group paid for Miss California Carrie Prejean’s breast implants just six weeks before she competed in the 2009 Miss USA pageant earlier this month.

“Did you guys pay for it?” Billy asked Shanna.

“Yes,” Shanna replied. “We did.”

Miss California set off a national firestorm when she cited religion as the driving force behind her opposition to the legalization of same sex marriage during the Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas two weeks ago.

“It was an option and she wanted it. And we supported that….” Shanna told Billy in a bid to defend the Miss California Organization’s decision to provide financial backing for the breast augmentation.

“Breast implants in pageants is not a rarity. It’s definitely not taboo. It’s very common. Breast implants today among young women today is very common. I don’t personally have them, but you know — they are,” she added.

The backlash over Miss California Carrie Prejean’s comments opposing gay marriage continue to make headlines. The 21-year-old beauty shocked some Americans –and infuriated gay blogger and Miss USA judge Perez Hilton — when she proudly professed that marriage should be reserved for a man and a woman –not same sex couples — during Sunday night’s Miss USA pageant in Las Vegas.

Now former Miss USA 1995 Shanna Moakler is speaking out on the controversy.

In an entry posted on her Official Blog Tuesday, Shanna writes:

“First, I want to be clear on the fact, that I have NOT and will not abandon our reigning Miss California, thou I have a STRONG difference of opinion, I do NOT hate her, nor do I have any issue with her stating her opinion, she is not the first conservative christian titleholder to be in pageants. I agree with the majority that this IS what makes our country great and that is of course freedom of speech. She was asked a questioned and she answered it.”

“She goes on to say, “But I want to explain to the masses, what the TITLE of Miss USA stands for to me, and being a former Miss USA, I feel I have a pretty good sense of it. Miss USA travels the world and she competes at the Miss UNIVERSE pageant as a representation of her country. She is a ambassador, a role model and needs to be able to show diplomacy on all issues. sadly for California THIS is where we lost the crown. Not for her answer or even her beliefs, because again, sadly IN California her beliefs at this point in time are the majority. But she lost the crown because she wasn’t able to convey compassion for ALL the people that as MISS USA she would be representing. and if YOU like it or not, gays and lesbians make up this country as well. THIS is why we have judges so they can find the RIGHT woman who obtains these qualities. they are crucial in my eyes when holding a honor and title as big as being Miss USA. The panel of judges was qualified and did their job, they represented all of us, men, woman, black, white, gay and straight.”

“I think Miss California’s willingness to stand by her convictions and ( in my eyes, simply made the question more personal then it needed to be,) has in essence made a great positive impact cause it has brought a issue important to me to the for front of the media and that is civil rights. I have blogged and petitioned for gay rights in the past and if anything positive can come out of this, It’s that it has people talking and we need to have people talking and we need MANY conversations on this topic to take place, especially in the state of California and with Prop 8.”

“I do however want to apologize to the men and woman who have continually supported the Miss California USA pageant. I know some were hurt and felt a sense of betrayal, but I thank you for your understanding, communication, love and continued support.”

Travis Barker and Shanna Moakler’s on-again, off-again romance is off—again.

One day after their latest split, the former Miss USA took to her Myspace Celebrity Blog to hit back at rumors that she has been secretly sleeping with actor Gerard Butler despite plans to remarry Travis.

“I really thought the days of my personal relationship being played in the public eye were over,” Shanna wrote. “Just so there is no confusion or ’source’ to attack my character, I am saying my side.”

She says that while she was helping the father of her two youngest children recover from a fiery plane crash last September, “I came across numerous romantic emails with MANY other women, some famous, some I personally knew, all heart breaking.”

“You know who you are and you should be ashamed of yourself,” Shanna typed in reference to the unidentified women involved.

Wait, weren’t they talking about getting remarried only two months ago?

Shanna and Travis break-up and make-up more than an ’80s boy band. What are we going to do with these two?

And you’ll never guess who’s at the center of the most recent split–Gerard Bulter. Shanna, as you may recall, was spotted dining with the actor while her former husband lay in a hospital recovering for severe burns in a plane crash last October.

At the time of the incident, both parties insisted they were only friends.

We don’t think Travis bought it.

According to a scoop featured in the April 7 edition of Us Weekly: “Travis confronted Shanna about her having an affair with Gerard Butler while he was in the hospital recovering,” the source says. Butler and Moakler were spotted getting cozy at the Hollywood opening of Shin Korean BBQ last October.

Travis’ rep tells Us that the drummer is done with his ex-wife for good this time: “After surviving the plane crash his driving force in life is the love he has for his kids. He is tired of all other drama and is ready to move on.”

Well Shanna’s not taking that laying down. A rep for the former Miss. USA has spoken out to Us, saying, “They did break up but Shanna never cheated on Travis while he was in the hospital. Furthermore, Shanna is tired of playing out their personal relationship in the press.”
