Introducing what could be reality television’s “Most Unlikely New Couple” — Sanjaya Malakar and Holly Montag.

That’s right, kids. We hear the long-suffering older sister of The Hills’ Heidi Montag is reportedly dating Sanjaya, best known for his off-beat performances and scene-stealing hairstyles on season 6 of American Idol.

“They’ve been spending a lot of time together,” a spy on the set of the NBC summer series told OK! on Thursday. “She’s even admitted to having a little crush on him!”

“Sanjaya and Holly created the name ‘Sanjolly’ sometime earlier this week,” the insider giggles.

Sanjaya Malakar, the American Idol contestant no one can forget, has signed on for four-weeks in the jungle with other former celebrities on NBC’s upcoming summer reality series, I’m A Celebrity . . . Get Me Out Of Here!

Also joining the parade of hasbeens on the small screen calamity are Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt, of The Hills fame, Oxygen reality star and former supermodel Janice Dickinson, and Dog the Bounty Hunter star Duane Chapman.

Controversial American Idol Season 6 star Sanjaya Malakar is set to release a memoir detailing his life story as well as an EP featuring new dance tracks songs, both called Dancing To The Music In My Head, on January 20.

Controversial American Idol 6 castoff Sanjaya Malakar made his debut as a pitchman for Nationwide Insurance on Thursday.

It’s all apart of the company’s innovative “Life Comes At You” campaign, which has also featured cameo appearances from has-beens like Fabio, MC Hammer, and Kevin Federline.

In the commercial, Sanjaya, known for his pitchy singing voice and funky hairstyles, visits a wise man who tells him he needs a retirement plan — and a haircut.

Controversial American Idol Season 6 finalist Sanjaya Malakar has signed on to star in a series of television promotions for Nationwide Insurance. The good-natured teenager, know for his curly mane of chestnut-brown hair, managed to defy the odds and return to the Idol stage each week despite performances consistenty classified as “horrendous” by judge Simon Cowell and much of the general audience. Sanjaya will debut in Nationwide’s “Life Comes at You Fast” ad campaign later this year, company announced on Tuesday. In the Nationwide commercial, Sanjaya visits a Hindu monastery as is advised by a guru that he needs a retirement plan, as well as some work on his hair.
