Sacha Baron Cohen crashed a Los Angeles rally in support of Proposition 8 between shooting scenes for his new movie Bruno on Sunday. The controversial proposed ballot measure would ban gay marriage in California.
Comedians Sacha Baron Cohen and Will Ferrell have been cast to appear in a new comedy based on the classic Sherlock Holmes franchise. Columbia Pictures has greenlit a film, currently in pre-production, that will feature the Borat comic (Sacha Baron Cohen) as master detective Sherlock Holmes and Ferrell as Watson, Holmes’ partner is crime-solving, Variety reported Wednesday.
Universal Pictures has schedued Bruno, the follow-up to Sacha Baron Cohen’s 2006 film Borat, for a May 15, 2009 box office release.
Like Borat, Bruno, a gay Austrian fashionista, is another sketch character from Cohen’s now defunct HBO series, Da Ali G Show.
