Have you heard? A new era is on the horizon for the English monarchy.
Prince William and Duchess Kate are still basking in their first year of martial bliss without a baby bump in sight, but when the couple is ready to welcome their firstborn, if the child is a daughter, she will be eligible to one day be Queen. For the first time in British history.
Under current law, males always inherit the British throne unless there are no male heirs, as was the case with William’s grandma, Queen Elizabeth II, who had one sister but no brothers when she took the throne following her father’s death. But that could be about to change. On Friday, English lawmakers gave a nod of approval to implement a reformed version of the traditional royal succession rules.

Royal Fever is headed to our shores again. Remember the fan frenzy that sprouted about when Prince William and Duchess Catherine hobnobbed in the City of Angels last month? Yeah, well that’s nothing compared to the pandemonium that will break out upon the arrival of Prince Harry.
The royal rascal will soon call The States home — at least temporarily — as part of his military training. Harry’s rep says he’ll take up residence in Arizona and California for a bit of Apache helicopter training “at some point in the next couple of months…”

Take cover! Prince Charles is threatening to throw his royal rattle out of the bassinet. His nose is all out of joint that his son Prince William and new daughter-in-law Kate are youthful and gorgeous while he and wife Camilla Parker-Bowles are more leathery and unattractive.

Another Royal Wedding! Prince Albert of Monaco wed Charlene Wittstock. Let Gossip Gawkers tell it, Friday’s civil ceremony was the wedding that almost wasn’t. Earlier this week, the now-newlyweds were forced to deny split rumors after a French magazine published an article branding the South African Olympic swimmer a “runaway bride.”

Don’t believe the hype! Reps for Prince Albert of Monaco — the son of late film legend Grace Kelly — say that despite Watercooler Chatter to the contrary, the eternal bachelor and his fiancee, South African beauty Charlene Wittstock are still set to walk down the aisle at Monaco Palace without a hitch this weekend.
