In her first television interview since being assaulted by former flame Chris Brown, pop princess Rihanna says it was “”wrong” of her to take the crooner back. “That’s embarrassing that that’s the type of person that I fell in love with,” the singer told Diane Sawyer on ABC’s Good Morning America Thursday. “So far in love. Rihanna’s ready to return to the stage. The once embattled pop princess will take the stage at the 2009 American Music Awards in her first solo public performance since being assaulted by former flame Chris Brown last February.
The “Russian Roulette” singer joins a hit list of previously announced performers, including Adam Lambert, Kelly Clarkson, Carrie Underwood, Jay-Z, Alicia Keys, Jennifer Lopez, and The Black Eyed Peas.
Rihanna’s AMA return will come one day before the release of the pop diva’s fourth album, Rated R.

On the same day that Rihanna chats with Diane – Friday on ABC’s 20/20 @ 10PM ET/PT – Chris sits down for a 30-minute gabfest of his own.
