Great news, Brits: Pop’s Bajan princess Rihanna is set to perform on the British talent show The X-Factor later this month. The “Disturbia” hitmaker will belt out her new single “Russian Roulette” from her forthcoming album, Rated R, on a program airing Nov. 22.
“I am beyond excited – it was the easiest decision I’ve ever made. A lot of people watch the show over here (in America) on YouTube and I personally caught a lot of it when Leona Lewis was on, who’s an amazing artist,” Rihanna said Wednesday. “So, to say yes to (show boss) Simon (Cowell) was an honor, especially as I know the show so well.”
Alexandra Burke and Cheryl Cole are also expected to perform on the results show. Meanwhile, Rihanna’s fourth studio album is slated for release the day after her X-Factor appearance.

Rihanna’s “Russian Roulette” video will debut this Friday, Nov. 13, on ABC’s 20/20 — that’s the same day her former boyfriend is scheduled to unveil the video for his new single — “Crawl” — on The Wendy Williams Show.
“Russian Roulette” was the first single off of Rihanna’s new album, “Rated R,” which will be released on November 23. “Crawl” is off Chris’ upcoming third LP, Graffiti, due out on Dec. 15; the video features tone-deaf Bad Boy Records protege, Cassie.
Will Smith will star in and produce a remake of Flowers For Algernon, based on the 1966 novel by Daniel Keyes, NewsinFilm.com is reporting
The plot focuses on Charlie, a man with mental disabilities, who takes part in an experiment that turns him into a genius. Algernon — who originated from Keyes’ 1959 short story –has been turned into a feature film several times before, most famously for 1968’s Charly, which won actor Cliff Robertson an Oscar.
The movie will be made in cooperation with Sony Pictures and Will’s Overbrook Entertainment and Polksy Films.
