Star Magazine reports the washed-up American Pie star checked herself into rehab after receiving an offer for a free ride at Malibu’s Promises Treatment Center.

After being hit particularly hard by the global recession, the $1,600 a night treatment facility, which has treated addicted celebrities like Britney Spears and Lindsay Lohan, is now offering pro bono rehab to celebrity drug addicts.

“Enrollment was down due to the bad economy, so in an effort to drum publicity, they asked around Hollywood to see who wanted to stay there for free.”

Like the blind leading the blind. Amy Winehouse wants to mentor drug addicts despite being clutched in the crippling grasp of a crack cocaine and heroin addiction herself.

The “Valerie” star is presently lobbying for “volunteer work” as a motivational speaker at several London rehab facilities, where she’s hoping her experience with substance abuse dependency will inspire other addicts to put down the crack pipe.

“She’s spoken to rehab centers and addiction clinics about doing volunteer work and has offered to do some talks to the in-patients about her experiences and how she overcame what have been some of the hardest, darkest days of her life.”

Steven Tyler has entered rehab. According to TMZ.com, the sixty year old Aerosmith frontman has checked himself into Dr. Drew Pinsky’s Las Encinas Hospital, a rehab facility in Pasadena, California, for substance abuse treatment. Based on some of the items in his wardrobe it should be pretty obvious that he’s high!

It’s the same facility where Dr. Drew’s hit VH1 reality show Celebrity Rehab will tape it’s forthcoming sophomore season.

Lindsay Lohan is rumored to be leaving rehab next week.

“She’s scheduled to be out of rehab by next week,” sources tattle. “She’s taken rehab very seriously. She has cut a lot of negative influences in her life. She and [mom] Dina speak every day.”

Bon Jovi guitarist Richie Sambora, single-handedly responsible for destroying the friendship between Denise Richards and Heather Locklear, has entered rehab, a rep for the band has reported.

“Richie Sambora has entered an undisclosed treatment facility in Los Angeles,” the rep said in a statement. “He asks that you respect he and his family’s privacy at this time.”

Tattles tell the National Enquirer that Britney Spears is dating her thirty-eight year old rehab counselor John Sundahl, a second rehab romance for the soon-to-be divorcee.

The recently rehabbed star insists that her relationship with John is purely professional — but her soon-to-be-ex-hubby insists they’re dating. A fact which has Brit’s estranged mom, Lynne, leaping for joy.

“John’s smitten with Britney,” a source described as “close to the new couple” told the tab. “I’ve never seen him act so ridiculous with a girl. He’s so in love with her that he’s risking his career just to keep her happy.”

John is a wealthy real estate developer and was recommended to Bri by someone at Promises Rehab Center where she spent thirty days. The center is also the current home of actress Lindsay Lohan.

“Britney and John ended up making out beside the pool — and Britney acted like she didn’t care who saw her,” the source told the Enquirer. “She’s got no shame.”

Troubled former child star Lindsay Lohan has hired a sobriety coach to the tune of $2000 a day to be with her around the clock while she undergoes treatment at Promises Rehab Center in Malibu, California, but that hasn’t stopped the “Georgia Rule” star from demanding that her friends sneak prescription drugs into the facility.

“She looked dead,” says a Star Mag source. “She looked like a stray dog the pound had just taken in.”

LiLo is currently detoxing from alcohol, cocaine, and prescription drugs like Percocet and Vicodin.

“She said she felt bad – really bad,” the source continued.

“But she’s gone through rehab before and she said she’d be OK if she were left alone to lie down in a dark room. She apparently was a veteran who knew the drill and was “used to doing it her own way.”

Lindsay gets a room with an ocean view in the small-sixteen-person facility for the $48,000 she has plopped down for her thirty-day stay. Lindsay reportedly smuggled her Blackberry into the Center and has been texting friends to smuggle sleeping pills in as well!

“She’s in rehab because of her addiction to drugs – everything from cocaine to OxyContin and Ambien – but she’s complaining she can’t sleep,” says a close friend. “She’s been texting friends 24/7, begging them for pills!”

Snitching sources at the National Enquirer claim that “Cruel Intentions” actress Selma Blair checked in for a secret stint at Promises Rehab Center back in March.

The tattle, an alleged friend of Selma’s, says she has long struggled with substance abuse, but has become a heavier user since her split with hubby Ahmet Zappa in 2006:

“She embraced what she learned at Promises and distinguished herself as a model patient,” the friend says.
