Reese Witherspoon and actor Jake Gyllenhaal have called it quits after nearly two years of dating, a source close to Witherspoon told PEOPLE Magazine on Sunday.
No reason has been given for the breakup.
Reese, 33, began dating 29-year-old Jake after the two co-starred in the 2007 thriller Rendition. Jake was previously romantically-linked to actress Kirsten Dunst while Reese was once married to her Cruel Intentions love interest Ryan Phillippe.
All hail Reese Witherspoon! The Oscar-winning star is being hailed a Good Samaritan after digging deep in pockets to pick up the tab for a woman who forgot her wallet and couldn’t afford to pay for her groceries.
Reese, 33, took pity on a shamefaced mother during a recent trip to a Whole Foods store in Los Angeles.
A store spywitness tells The Daily Mail: “Reese knows that kids make you lose your mind. When she spotted a harried mom who had forgotten her wallet she picked up the tab. The woman was so flustered and embarrassed. But Reese said she would gladly take care of the $70 bill and no apology was necessary.”
The insider adds: “She told the mom, ‘I understand, I have kids too!’”
Reese — who has a nine-year-old daughter Ava and five-year-old son Deacon — is currently dating actor Jake Gyllenhaal.

Oscar-winning actress Reese Witherspoon is the latest in a long line of stars desperate to maintain their good looks the unusual way.
Reese has reportedly begun eating anti-aging cookies. The Walk The Line star is rumored a huge fan of beauty giant BORBA’s DeLuscious Vitamin Enhanced Cookies, which claim to combat fine lines and wrinkles.
The tasty treats come in different flavors including Oatmeal Raisin and Chocolate Toffee White Chocolate, and boast more than nine minerals and vitamins, according to In Touch Weekly Magazine.
