In a revealing interview with PBS moderator Tavis Smiley on Monday, music legend Prince revealed that he was cured of a serious childhood health condition — after a close encounter with an angel.

“I’ve never spoken about this before, but I was born epileptic. I used to have seizures when I was young,” Prince told Tavis on Night One of his two-part interview event.

One of music’s most private stars insists his fragile boyhood health miraculously improvedd after he was reassured by an angelic apparition.

“My mother told me one day I walked into her and said mom I’m not going to be sick anymore, and she said ‘why?’ and I said; ‘an angel told me so.’”

Prince will release three new albums in 2009.

The musician said that he is currently working on a trilogy of follow-ups to his 2007’s LP Planet Earth because he is “sick of waiting for Sade to make a new album.”

Four new tracks from the eccentric pop/rock icon made their debut Los Angeles radio on Christmas Day.

Each album will be distributed without the aid of a record label as Prince is in final negotiations with an undisclosed retailer to sell the albums, which will also be available for purchase online.

The breach-of-contract lawsuit, filed by Revelations Perfume and Cosmetics Inc., says it licensed Prince’s name, likeness, and the album title 3121 to market the scent but claims that Universal and Prince have failed to participate in various promotions for the product since its launch in July 2007.

Prince is hopping mad over an article in this Sunday’s edition of The New Yorker which allegedly quotes the pop legend making some questionable remarks about the gay community.

(This coming from a guy who perms his hair and harbors an unhealthy obsession with all things purple. Perhaps he should reevaluate his entire wardrobe, because several of his outfits just scream “Single twinkie male.”)

Prince, who became a Jehovah’s Witness seven years ago, is accused of telling the publication that homosexuality goes against the word of God.

When asked about his perspective on social issues—gay marriage, abortion—Prince tapped his Bible and said, “God came to earth and saw people sticking it wherever and doing it with whatever, and he just cleared it all out. He was, like, ‘Enough.’ ”

Well, the “Pink Cashmere” singer says this whole thing is just one big misunderstanding. In fact, a spy close to the star has slammed The New Yorker for taking the star’s comments out of context.
