Jeff Conaway Dies

Well, Crunchers, it looks like we’re kicking Memorial Day Weekend into high gear with a serious case of “The Sads.” Jeff Conaway has died. The ’70s star best remembered for his appearances on TV’s Taxi and in the big screen musical-comedy Grease passed away Friday after being removed from life support, his manager Phil Brock tells E! News.

“We know his struggles against addiction are finally over,” Brock said in a statement this afternoon. “Jeff had legions of fans who loved him. Sometimes I wish he had known that.”

Lady Gaga Ziplines Onto “Good Morning America” Stage To Kick-Off Concert Series:

Lady Gaga made a surprise entrance on Good Morning America Friday; the “Born This Way” hitmaker ziplined onstage at Central Park this morning, kicking off the breakfast show’s 2011 Summer Concert Series. Wearing a long, bright red wig and a red and white costume, the outlandish songstress wowed a record-setting number of screaming “Little Monsters” with a sizzling live set that included numbers like “Bad Romance,” “Hair,” and “Born This Way,” the title track from her titanic new album.

Born This Way has sold nearly 800,000 copies and topped iTunes and Billboard music charts since its release on May 23.

Oprah Winfrey hung up her microphone as the undisputed Queen of Talk on Wednesday, wrapping up her nationally-syndicated Oprah Winfrey Show after 25 seasons. And what a send-off it was. Preliminary figures show yesterday’s finale scored O her biggest audience in 17 years. The episode delivered a 13.3 household rating in the nation’s metered markets, The Nielsen Co. said Thursday. Oprah hasn’t seen an audience that big since Feb. 1994. That’s when an episode called “People Shed Their Disguises” got a 13.4 rating.
