Pink gave a show-stopping performance with her ballad “Glitter in the Air” at the Grammys last Sunday. The performance featured the singer dangling upside down in the air, and at one point — dripping wet. Now Pink is bringing circus act to The Oprah Show.
Pink, sit’cho ass down! Pop star Pink — who rose to fame as an R&B star before adopting the pop-rock sound that would become her calling card — has hit a sore note with some fans after she seemingly-mocked music Golden Girl Beyonce during a concert in Europe last month.
In video footage taken during the December show, the “There You Go” singer is caught impersonating Mrs. Knowles-Carter — with a rendition of the infamous”Single Ladies Dance” — during a performance of her smash single “Stupid Girls.”
“Stupid Girls,” released in 2006, was accompanied by a popular music video that parodied Hollywood airheads, like Paris Hilton.
Add R&B songstress-turned-pop rocker Pink to the mix of music aficionados speaking out against Britney Spears for lip-synching and miming during “live” concerts.
The “Don’t Leave Me” singer insists she would never attend one of the pop princess’ shows because she was raised to appreciate live music.
“I’m not taking anything away from Britney because I really like her a lot, but I would never go to a show where the person was lip-synching,” Pink reveals in the January issue of Women’s Health. “When you grow up listening to Janis Joplin, you’re not going to want to see somebody mime.”
Aww snap! Singer/animal rights activist Pink has branded Prince William a “redneck” after learning the British royal enjoys fox hunting.
“I wrote to him to protest about fox hunting and I figured he would be this stuffy, privileged asshole,” the pop-rocker tells Q Magazine. “But he’s like a redneck from the south. If you’re brought up shooting and hunting animals, if you really think it’s second nature and you’re blasting away then it’s hard to see the other point of view. You need educating.”
