Despite, a recent public denial, Paul Newman is battling cancer, an acquaintance of the eighty-three year old Hollywood star says. Writer AE Hotchner, a long-time partner in the Newman’s Own salad dressing empire, says the actor told him about the disease eighteen months ago.
Paul Newman does not have lung cancer, a rep for the veteran actor said on Tuesday. (Well, that’s good news.) Last week’s edition of The National Enquirer claimed the eighty-three year old Butch Cassidy and The Sundance Kid star had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer at New York’s Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
