Grease star Olivia Newton-John slipped into a tracksuit and donned a sweat band to join Glee’s hilarious villain Sue Sylvester in a recreation of Newton-John’s hit 1981 song, “Physical.”
Olivia Newton-John wasn’t very keen about getting “Physical.”
The Aussie singer and actress, now 61, has revealed that she originally tried to stop her infamous 1981 single and video, “Physical,” from hitting the airwaves. Newton-John — who shot to fame in the 1978 movie musical Grease — feared that the song and Grammy-winning video, both shot for her album of the same name, would ruin her wholesome reputation.
Olivia Newton-John is set to get “Physical” with the cast of television’s Glee!
The Grease star has agreed to make a special guest appearance on an upcoming episode of FOX’s smash musical comedy, series creator Ryan Murphy revealed to Entertainment Tonight this week. The cameo will see Newton-John performing her 1981 hit “Physical” alongside Cheerios coach Sue Sylvester — played by Jane Lynch.
