British singing star Cheryl Cole will have to wait just a little longer to conquer America. She’s been replaced as a judge on the new US version of The X Factor after producers grew increasingly uncomfortable with her thick “Geordie accent” and lack of chemistry with fellow female panelist Paula Abdul. She’s been replaced with Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger, 32, who had originally been tipped to co-host the talent show with British unknown Steve Jones. Nicole actually filled in for Cheryl, who, until recently was a judge of the UK version of the show.
It’s official: FOX has confirmed that Pussycat Dolls frontwoman Nicole Scherzinger and British TV personality Steve Jones have been tipped to host the hotly-awaited US adaptation of The X Factor, premiering this fall.
Enrique’s out and Nicole is in as presenter of the American adaptation of Britain’s The X Factor. Pussycat Dolls Nicole Scherzinger has edged out Spanish crooner Enrique Iglesias to become the singing star who’ll be chaneling their inner Ryan Seacrest when the talent show premieres on FOX in September.
If reports out of London are to be believed, Cowell has snapped up Scherzinger to host The X Factor after originally tipping the stunner, 32, for a role on the judging panel.
