Socialite designer Nicole Richie explores the City of Light with the “Love Of Her Life,” her 5-month-old son Sparrow! In a post to her blog on Thursday, the mother of two shared an adorable pic of her and the chubby-cheeked baby boy in front of Paris’ breathtaking Eiffel Tower.

“A Romantic Day in Paris,” reads a caption beneath the image.

Nicole Richie designed her own engagement ring.

After three years and two children, the socialite revealed her engagement to Good Charlotte rocker Joel Madden during an appearance on CBS’ Late Show With David Letterman this week. Wedding plans have been in the works for months and Nicole worked with renowned celebrity jeweler Neil Lane on the band, which is accentuated flawless four carat, round diamond. Lane has created pieces for a host of stars, including Gwyneth Paltrow, Madonna, Nicole Kidman, and Charlize Theron, but was smitten with the way Joel allowed his bride-to-be to have complete control over the design.

“We designed it together. Nicole was lovely and wonderful to work with on it! She wanted a beautiful, special ring and wanted to be intimately involved in the design,” Lane told PEOPLE Magazine on Wednesday. “Joel just wanted her to have her dream ring.”

Joel and Nicole are expected to wed this summer.

“My happiness for Nicole and Joel knows no boundaries,” 60-year-old R&B legend Lionel Richie said Tuesday. “They have given me two beautiful grandchildren, Harlow and Sparrow, and have proven to be great parents. I am not sure who is luckier, Nicole and Joel to have each other, or me, to have both of them in my life. I cannot wait to give away the bride!”

The former reality starlet and Hollywood socialite reportedly announced news of her upcoming wedding to the Good Charlotte rocker during an appearance on The Late Show with David Letterman on Monday night, according to E! News.

“Yep. I’m engaged. Very happy. Yeah we’ve been engaged for a while so you’re all kind of late on that. But, thanks for the hoopla all the same,” Joel said in a post to his Twitter page on Monday. He has since removed the message.

The episode, taped on Monday, is expected to air on Letterman this Friday. Nicole and Joel are the parents of two — 2-year-old daughter Harlow and son Sparrow, born in September.
