Strange title, I know, but turmoil and arrest is exactly what’s been going on in Nicole Richie’s life for the moment. Richie was, as most already know, arrested for driving the wrong way last Monday. She failed the sobriety test and admitted to taking Vicodin which promptly lead to her going to jail. Richie says though that she took Vicodin because she had severe menstrual cramps and not for any other reason. She was released the same day after paying her bail of US$ 15,000.
Richie claims that she is ready to face whatever the consequences are for her bad behavior. She admits responsibility and says that she is prepared to address any issues that arise because of it.
The fact that Nicole Richie is one of the icon girls adds to yet another in the long list of misdemeanors Hollywood girl stars have been increasingly committing lately. The Richie incident most likely alarms parents who know that Nicole Richie is one of the Hollywood stars popular with young girls (and boys too) nowadays. Whatever image she does portray will of course affect the girls perception and behavior so that though, through her own choice or not, Nicole Richie and other Hollywood stars serve as role models for young girls.
The truth though is that the Richie incident should not be seen by parents as something that will necessarily influence their children badly. Quite frankly, Nicole Richie and the other Holywood Stars look like complete idiots and fools when they get in trouble like this. If the topic is discussed properly at home and the right perspective is given, incidents like this could even serve as good lessons for the sorts of behavior to avoid.
Nicole Richie has always been a tad too slim for many people’s tastes. In fact, rumor has followed her around for the past few years – rumor that she has had eating disorders. As the year 2006 draws to an end, however, Nicole Richie seems to have found something to help her look – and maybe become – healthier.
So what is behind Nicole Richie’s new “healthy” look? She paid the professionals a visit – plastic surgeons, that is. This, in fact, is nothing new. Different people have a variety of reasons for seeking the services of plastic surgeons. We all know that. Many times, though, what we hear of are celebrities who do so to have some extra cellulite taken off. In Nicole’s case, it is quite the opposite – she had breast augmentation done. Come to think of it, it is not so unusual either. I mean, who has not had this procedure done?
Her new look is not all based on plastic surgery, though. It has long been known that this controversial figure has been undergoing medical treatment to add a few pounds here and there – thus the speculation that she had an eating disorder. As such, her weight gain could be attributed to her natural efforts to become rounder. Yet plastic surgeon Dr. Anthony Youn of Detroit states that her breasts could not have been a result of something natural. He says that her breast size have increased from AA to B – based on pictures – and that this sudden increase in such a short period of time cannot possibly because of her natural weight gain.
So apparently the “painfully pointy” look is appealing to some guys?
Nicole Richie is apparently dating Brody Jenner. You may know Jenner from the short-lived Fox series Princes of Malibu, and if you don’t know him from that you most likely don’t know him at all. But we do know the following about him: He just broke up with Kristin Cavallari (star of Laguna Beach) two weeks ago. He’s decent looking. He seems pretty laid back and he likes to eat. So far, so good.
The couple is seen here yesterday, first shopping together and then later out at the L.A. hotspot Hyde. (Who isn’t at Hyde these days, seriously?)

I know whenever I’m in a relationship it’s easy to put on pounds. Why? Less time for working out and more time spent going out to eat. We can only hope something similar happens for Nicole.
If Jenner can get Richie back up to a healthy weight he’ll be my new favorite celebrity.
According to an article on today’s msnbc, Nicole Richie reportedly fainted this past weekend while shopping at an LA boutique.
According to an eyewitness, Richie fell to the floor while lookingthrough a rack of clothes. She reportedly blamed the the heat and was able to leave the store after resting for about 20 minutes.
Of course, the immediate media speculation is that the fainting has something to do with Richie’s recent extreme weight loss. Richie has admitted to being “too thin” but denies being anorexic or bulemic. The tabloids love a good fainting spell, because according to them it can only mean one of three things:
If you’re a man,
fainting = drugs.
If you’re a thin woman,
fainting = eating disorder.
And if you’re a woman who’s not so thin, fainting = pregnant.
They all make good headlines.
I’m so shocked by this news that I just have to blurt it out.
Nicole Richie and Jeff Goldblum – together! I’m serious!
Well… maybe. What we do know, according to MSN’s Kate Giantis, is that the two stars recently had dinner together and now have nothing but good things to say about each other. Things like Richie saying, “I love Jeff Goldblum, there is something about him,” and Goldblum talking to a friend about Richie saying, “she’s sexy.”
Nicole Richie, who is less than one-half of Goldblum’s age (and about one-half his height too) is the polar opposite of many of his exes, who include Geena Davis and Laura Dern.
Granted, this isn’t exactly an engagement announcement, but the media better start working now on their cute-sy couple nickname (i.e. Brangelina and TomKat) just in case.
