Thousands of Polish citizens are mourning the loss of their president, Lech Kaczynski, and 96 other people who died Saturday, after a jet carrying the political leader, his wife, and much of his delegation clipped some trees and hit the ground bursting into flames in a devastating crash that Poles are calling the nation’s worst tragedy since World War II.
MSNBC anchor David Shuster has been suspended from the network indefinitely after the journalist violated his contract by participating in a pilot for a new show headed to rival network CNN, The New York Times reported Tuesday.
“David has been suspended indefinitely,” an NBC spokesperson confirmed this morning.
Shuster has been a correspondent and anchor for MSNBC for eight years, and has covered such major events as Hurricane Katrina and Presidential campaigns. His contract with the network ends in December.

Pennsylvania congressman John Murtha has been hospitalized in “very serious” condition in Virginia, NBC News has learned.
The 77-year-old Pennsylvania lawmaker was hospitalized in December with gallbladder problems. He underwent surgery for the aliment last week but was admitted to the intensive care unit of the Virginia Hospital Center in Arlington after experiencing complication on, Murtha spokesman Matt Mazonkey says.
The 19-term Democrat was the first Vietnam veteran to serve in Congress.
