Eighties boy band New Kids on the Block and nineties heartthrobs Backstreet Boys are teaming up for a North American tour — after their duet earlier this year left fans itching for more.
NKOTB and BSB: Together At Last! Boy band fans were treated to a double dose of nostalgia at New York City’s Radio City Music Hall on Saturday night when ’80s hitmakers New Kids on the Block brought out ’90s-era pop tarts the Backstreet Boys for a duet.
The New Kids thrilled fans as they began to cover the Backstreet Boys’ 1999 hit “I Want It That Way” for the sold-out crowd. The audience proceeded to go wild when The Boys themselves stepped onto the stage to finish the song with NKOTB.
For those who care: Revamped ’80s boy band New Kids On The Block have cancelled their scheduled tour of the Australian outback this summer, blaming poor ticket sales for the shows on the global economic recession. Read the rest of this entry »
New Kids on The Block reminded us that they’re still alive — and “Hangin’ Tough” — with a live set on NYC’s Rockefeller Plaza, as part of The TODAY Show’s annual “Summer Concert Series,” on Friday.
