Here’s a bit of a treat for our Crunch-Lovin’ Movie Buffs: The first promotional still from the upcoming psychological thriller, Black Swan.
The film — which features actress Natalie Portman as a ballerina — will open the Venice Film Festival Sept.1. Swan — directed by lensman Darren Aronofsky and featuring Vincent Cassel and Winona Ryder — centers on the rivalry between two dancers at a ballet company in New York.
Just call it Portman’s pot-free youth. Natalie Portman, who stars opposite Tobey Maguire and Jake Gyllenhaal in the upcoming film Brothers, describes herself as a bit of a late bloomer in the Jan. 2010 issue of Marie Claire. “OK, so I didn’t really go to high school parties,” she tells the magazine. “I didn’t touch pot ’til I was in my 20s. I didn’t get flat-out drunk until I went to college [Harvard]. But I think that’s a good thing in many ways.”
With her legthy locks slicked into a perfect pompadour, vegan extraordinaire Natalie Portman adopts an androgynous look for the cover of V Magazine’s December issue. Mario Testino snapped the Oscar-nominated star, now 28, in London last month, where she spoke to the magazine about her first-ever sex scene in the upcoming war drama, Brothers, where she plays the wife of a marine, played by Tobey Maguire.
“….Being a sexual object when you’re a kid is really uncomfortable. After [debuting in 1994's] ‘The Professional,’ I was already getting creepy letters.”
