Melissa Lawson, of Arlington, Texas, won NBC’s Nashville Star singing competition on Monday night.

The 32-year-old crooner, a mother of five boys, won a record contract with Warner Bros. Records and will perform live from the Summer Olympics in Beijing on August 12, which will be featured on NBC’s Today.
