Diddy’s new MTV reality series Making His Band premieres July 27 at 10PM ET/PT.
The show follows 42 musicians vying for a chance to tour with the Bad Boy mogul –who also fronts Making The Band and I Want To Work For Diddy — in support of his new “hip-hop soul” album, Last Train To Paris.
Series Tagline: You’ve seen Diddy create a hip-hop group, a female pop group, and a male R and B group. Now the grande impresario is creating a group for himself, to perform on what he is calling his last album. Diddy and his team will leave no stone unturned as they scour the country for musicians and back-up singers to bring his music to life.
Between insulting then-President Bush and poking fun at The Jonas Brothers’ card-carrying virgin status, Russell Brand did such a great job stirring up controversy at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards, the network is inviting him back to do it all again.
“We are thrilled that despite numerous death threats from Jonas Brothers fans, Russell Brand has accepted our offer to put his life on the line and host the VMAs again this year,” Stephen Friedman, General Manager of MTV, said this morning.
The brash Brit will host the 2009 MTV VMAs, live from New York City, on Sunday, Sept. 13 @ 9PM ET/tape-delayed PT.

The 24-year-old star of MTV’s “reality drama” >The Hills has been tapped to promote Carl’s new “healthier” Teriyaki Burger under the tagline: ”More than just a piece of meat.”
