Paris Hilton has landed her next big movie role. The socialite will appear alongside Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Samuel L. Jackson, and Eva Mendes in the upcoming cop-action comedy The Other Guys, currently in production in New York.

MTV is doing a slasher movie. Seriously.

The once pioneering network known for broadcasting groundbreaking music videos has commissioned its first stab at the horror genre with the introduction of My Super Psycho Sweet 16. The title and concept plays off the network’s hit reality series My Super Sweet 16, which chronicles the lavish birthday parties of pampered rich kids.

In My Super Psycho Sweet 16 – which premieres this week — a teen’s birthday bash at a skating rink is interrupted by a serial killer. The movie already has been shot and is “pretty graphic,” according to MTV’s Senior Vice-President of Production Chris Linn.

Miley Cyrus is ready for her Sex And The City debut. Miley and actress Kim Cattrall were snapped filming a scene for the Sex And The City sequel in New York City this week.

On Friday, the teen star and the SATC diva were photographed shooting a red carpet scene wearing the same matching metallic dresses and swashbuckling knee-length boots. In the scene, the two stars attend the premiere of Smith Jerrod’s new movie at the famed Ziegfeld Theater in NYC. A poster on the set reveals the name of the movie will be called Heart of the Desert.

We hear Sarah Jessica Parker and Co. are petrified that they will contract the potentially-fatal swine flu virus after a crew member on the New York City set of the upcoming Sex And The City sequel contracted the disease.

SATC stars — Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, Kim Cattrall, and Kristin Davis — has implemented a policy demanding that hair and makeup staffers wear face masks when standing anywhere near them, according to a scoop from The National Enquirer’s Mike Walker.

A set tattle squeals: Sarah Jessica’s assistant distributed hand sanitizers to the entire cast and crew, instructing them to detoxify regularly – especially if they have to touch Boss Lady during scenes.

Chris Pine Is The New Jack Ryan

Chris Pine became a household name playing Captain Kirk in the summer blockbuster Star Trek, now the handsome actor is stepping into a role made famous by Hollywood staples Harrison Ford, Alec Baldwin, and Ben Affleck — Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan.

The 29-year-old will play the CIA analyst in a revival of the series based on the popular Tom Clancy novels, according to Variety.

“Tom Clancy created an unforgettable character with Jack Ryan,” Paramount Film Group president Adam Goodman told the trade paper Wednesday. “With Chris in this role, we’ve taken our first step in creating a re-boot that lives up to the successful lineage of the franchise.”

Baldwin was the first to play Ryan in 1990’s The Hunt for Red October. Ford played him in 1992’s Patriot Games and 1994’s Clear and Present Danger. Most recently, Ben Affleck took over the role in the 2002 hit The Sum of All Fears.

Angelina Jolie To Replace Charlize Theron As “The Tourist”

South African screen siren Charlize Theron has backed out of the globetrotting thriller The Tourist — and fellow Oscar winner Angelina Jolie is now reportedly in discussions to replace her, industry spies tell The Hollywood Reporter.

No reason has been given for Charlize’s departure..

The Tourist is a remake of the 2005 French thriller Anthony Zimmer. The plot follows an American tourist traveling abroad who is seduced by a beautiful woman and becomes caught in an international plot involving Interpol and the Russian mafia who both mistake him for a criminal mastermind.

Sam Worthington, of Terminator: Salvation and Avatar, has already signed on to play the male lead.

The Tourist is slated to begin shooting in early 2010.
