Katie Holmes has been tapped to replace actress Liv Tyler in the independently financed comedy The Romantics.
The film, to be directed by Galt Niederhoffer, also stars Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody and Jeremy Strong, Variety has learned.


The Romantics revolves around eight friends from college who reunite for a wedding, where Holmes plays Laura, the maid of honor to Paquin’s Lila, the bride. Laura and Lila are best friends who both have a past with the groom played by Duhamel.
Critically-acclaimed lensman Steven Spielberg was scared out of his wits after watching an advance copy of the low-budget horror hit Paranormal Activity. The Jurassic Park director put the DVD of the film in a garbage bag, vowing never to let it in his house again, an unidentified Paramount Pictures production insider spills to The Daily Express.

Michael Jackson’s This Is It was the No. 1 “Thriller” for movie audiences this Halloween.

The King of Pop’s highly anticipated musical documentary — comprised of This Is It Tour behind-the-scenes rehearsal footage — led the box office with $21.3 million in weekend ticket sales, knocking low-budget horror fest Paranormal Activity down to No. 2. This Is It has raised its five-day total worldwide to $101 million. Paranormal has raised $84.8 million total, according to The AP.

The first Sex And The City Movie filmed in New York City and Los Angeles, but the sequel is going international.

Sarah Jessica Parker, who plays series protagonist Carrie Bradshaw, was photographed shooting scenes in Marrakech, Morocco on Friday. A fashionista on and off the screen, SJP wore a Christian Dior “J’adore Dior” tee with an oversized lavender skirt while on set.

The cast and crew of The Twilight Saga: Eclipse have officially wrapped filming on the third installment of the vampire franchise, according to director David Slade.

“Twilight: Eclipse officially wrapped shooting at 4.30am October 29. Physically and emotionally exhausted,” Slade said, writing on his Twitter account Thursday.
The cast and crew — who have been working on the film since August — recently celebrated the end of shooting with a party at the Vancouver Aquarium in Stanley Park. They are now scheduled to begin a promotional tour for the second series film, New Moon, opening in theaters Nov. 20.

Funnyman Adam Sandler is preparing to step into drag for a gender-bending new comedy scheduled for release in 2011.

The actor has signed up to play the male and female tittle character in Jack and Jill, a romantic comedy about twins, Variety reported Thursday.
The movie is set to begin filming early next year.
