Dolly Parton is returning to movies — The legendary country songstress will team up with rapper-turned Academy Award nominee Dana “Queen Latifah” Owens in a new film called Joyful Noise, Variety said Friday.
Academy Award winners Tom Hanks and Sandra Bullock are in discussions for the lead roles in Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, a post-9/11 drama currently in pre-production.
Angelina Jolie will make her directorial debut in a fall that will begin shooting in Bosnia this fall, the actress announced over the weekend.
Jolie is reportedly scouting location in Budapest, Hungary for the film about war in Yugoslavia in the early 1990s. The poignant feature is described as a love story about a couple that meets on the eve of the war and are nearly torn apart when the Bosnian woman is raped by a Serbian soldier.
Angie will reportedly star in the film as well.
Song-and-dance man Zac Efron is eager to star in a movie adaptation of the Tony-winning Broadway musical Memphis, but it looks like the High School Musical heartthrob is in for some stiff competition from actual Memphis native and former boy bander Justin Timberlake.
Both stars want the lead role, BroadwayWorld has revealed.
