Listen up, Twi-Hards. Eclipse, the third film in the insanely-popular Twilight Saga, is set to begin production in Vancouver, Canada on August 17, Production Weekly announced via Twitter Tuesday.
The third flick in the vampire epic, featuring Robert Pattinson as vamp Edward Cullen and Kristen Stewart as his mortal lady love Bella Swan, will shoot through October 31 at Vancouver Film Studios.
Twilight: New Moon, the follow-up to last winter’s blockbuster Twilight, will be in theaters in November.
Paramount’s Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is making a killing at the box office, but the sequel to 2007’s blockbuster has fallen under fire for featuring two shape-shifting robots as “racial stereotypes,” according to The Associated Press. Read the rest of this entry »

She can dance and she can sing — but Julianne Hough’s acting is going to require some professional fine-tuning, at tattles for The New York Post are to be believed.
The Dancing With The Stars performer and rising country starlet is reportedly rearranging her work schedule to accomodate filming for next year’s remake of the 1984 film Footloose. However, word is she Julianne been ordered to take acting lessons after she tanked an audition for the role of preacher’s daughter Ariel Moore in the film, which will star Gossip Girl’s Chace Crawford.
Julianne’s audition “was so bad, the producers sent her off to take acting classes,” The Post reports. “She’s scheduled for another screen test Aug. 1. They definitely like her, but the producers know they need a real actress for the movie to work — she’s a pretty girl who can sing and dance, but so was Mariah Carey, and we all know how ‘Glitter’ turned out.”
Footloose opens in theaters in July of 2010.

The Bella Swan Barbie doll is wearing her trademark jeans, sneaks, and gray jacket, just like Kristen Stewart in the award-winning film. The Edward Cullen Collector’s Barbie has the pale skin and striking eyes of actor Rob Pattinson.
Twilight has quickly become a worldwide phenomenon developing a strong core base of dedicated fans who are drawn to the story of a Romeo & Juliet style romance between mortal (Bella) and vampire (Edward). Who better to capture the young star-crossed love of these two characters than Barbie & Ken, reads a product description being used to peddle the new dolls.
The Twilight Barbie Dolls are being sold separately online through Toys R Us’ Canadian store. They will not be shipped until late October.
Legendary entertainer Cher has inked a deal to star alongside Christina Aguilera in the “Genie In A Bottle” star’s motion picture debut, Screen Gems’ musical Burlesque.
Christina will play a talented young singer from a small town who finds success and love while performing at a burlesque club in Los Angeles. Cher will play Tess, a former dancer who runs the club, Variety has learned.
“She brings a soulfulness and gravitas to this character that will ground the story,” he tells the trade paper. “The only person who was more excited than I am is Christina,” Screen Gems President Clint Culpepper told the trade mag late Monday.
Burlesque will be the first movie appearance for Cher since her role in Tea with Mussolini in 1999.
