Femcee-turned-American Idol judge Nicki Minaj is final negotiations for a role in The Other Woman, a Nick Cassavetes-directed comedy featuring Cameron Diaz.
The storyline finds Diaz as a woman who finds out that she is “the other woman” in a love triangle. She teams up with the wife (played by Leslie Mann) to get revenge on the cheating husband. Nicki is in talks to play Diaz’s thrice-wed, opinionated assistant.
Minaj previously lent her voice to a character in Fox’s Ice Age: Continental Drift.
Britney Spears has recorded a song for the upcoming Smurfs sequel.
The “Toxic” songstress recorded the single, titled “Ooh La La,” for the summer blockbuster Smurfs 2, Columbia Pictures/Sony Pictures Animation announced Wednesday. Britney originally recorded the tune for her sons, Sean, seven, and Jayden, six, but is ecstatic that it will now be part of the Smurfs 2 soundtrack.
Spears announced the news on both Facebook and Twitter:
“Remember that surprise song I recorded for my boys? It’s coming soon! #OohLaLa for #TheSmurfs2 :)…I have always loved the Smurfs as a kid and now my boys are the biggest Smurfs fans EVER. I wanted to surprise them with a song in the movie. I know they’ll think it’s Smurftastic.”
The song will play during the end credits of the live-action and animated film, which is set to hit theaters July 31.

Sunday’s 2013 MTV Movie Awards offered Hunger Games fanatics a brief glimpse at Catching Fire, the second saga in the literary series-turned-hit film franchise. The new teasesr trailer, presented by Games star Liam Hemsworth, saws footage of Katniss and Peeta as they head out on their victory tour.
Hunger Games: Catching Fire opens in theaters Nov. 22.
