Donald Trump, co-owner of the Miss Universe Organization, says the semi-nude photos that have appeared online of Bible-thumping beauty queen Carrie Prejean in the past week are “fine” — and that’s why he’s letting Carrie Prejean keep her Miss USA runner-up title, as well as her Miss California crown.
“Carrie will remain Miss California,” The Donald said in a press conference live from Trump Towers in New York City on Tuesday. “We reviewed the pictures very carefully. We are in the 21st century. … Carrie’s a model, she’s very successful. We have determined that the pictures taken are fine. So we’ve made a determination that everything we’ve seen to this date that she’s done. Some were beautiful, some were risque. We’re in the 21 century. We’ve determined the pictures taken were acceptable, fine, and in many cases they were very lovely pictures.”

While Miss California Carrie Prejean awaits the decision on whether she’ll lose her title over the leak of nude photographs, The TODAY Show’s Matt Lauer spoke with pageant’s runner-up, Miss Malibu Tami Farrell, about the pic controversy and her readiness to take over the crown.
“It comes down to the contract. She has denied these photos and they continue to surface,” Tami told Matt on Tuesday.
Prejean’s fate now lies in the hands of The Donald.

More racy photos — some topless — taken of Miss California Carrie Prejean just last year have suddenly surfaced online, the revelation comes just hours before pageant owner Donald Trump is set to announce whether he’ll strip the 21-year-old beauty queen of her title for breach of contract in relation to the photo scandal.
So much for Carrie’s story that the original nude photo that leaked was the only suggestive shot she had ever taken.

Alaska governor Sarah Palin has phoned in a call of support to controversial Miss California Carrie Prejean.
On Friday, William Prejean, the father of the 21-year-old beauty queen, told E! that the conservative former GOP VP candidate called his daughter “to offer support” in the wake of her recent remarks against gay marriage — of course this was before a topless photo of the beauty queen appeared online.
However, he had no details on the phone conversation or of Gov. Palin’s opinion of the controversial image.

Carrie Prejean is Miss California USA 2009. She has been embroiled in controversy over a question about same sex marriage asked during the Miss USA pageant, and more recently over nude pictures which have surfaced online. Prejean grew up in an evangelical Christian home, and told America during the Miss USA pageant that she was against the legalization of same sex marriage. Carrie Prejean has also caused some controversy after it was found that the Miss California pageant committee purchased breast implants for her prior to the Miss USA competition.
