Things just keep getting more and more bleak for little Mischa Barton.
Less than 24 hours after she was forced to deny claims that she has displayed chat-worthy “unprofessionalism” on the set of Law & Order: SVU, the troubled 23-year-old actress has been smacked with a suit from her landlord.
In a lawsuit filed Thursday, M.R.A. Realties Inc. alleges the celeb owes approximately three months back rent on an apartment she is leasing in New York City’s trendy Tribeca neighborhood. Mischa rented out the $7,000-a-month pad in the Big Apple on a one-year lease in September. She had planned to stay in the city while filming her now-defunct CW series The Beautiful Life, but has had trouble paying her rent since the show was was axed by the network last fall.
The realty is seeking the outstanding rent as well as legal fees.
Mischa Barton has spent much of the past week filming a guest spot on NBC’s veteran crime drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, but the former “It Girl’s” turn as a leggings-wearing Lady of The Night has made her the most talked about woman on set — and that isn’t a good thing. According to a sneaky snitch close to production, Mischa — who was admitted to a psychiatric hospital last summer — spent all day Tuesday flubbing her lines, turning the shoot into a 10 hour day for the frustrated cast and crew. Sources say SVU only shot one scene the entire day, thanks to Mischa’s “unprofessionalism.”

That Mischa Barton is a real pro. Mischa has been cast as a prostitute on an upcoming episode of NBC’s long-running crime drama Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and the former star of The OC was photographed filming scenes for her guest appearance in New York City’s Meatpacking District over the weekend. Mischa makes her SVU premiere on Wednesday, March 3. The 23-year-old’s last television appearance, the Ashton Kutcher-produced The Beautiful Life, was axed by The CW last fall due to poor ratings.
