The Brokeback Mountain star had split from the Australian actor months before he died from an accidental drug overdose in January 2008, but has a tough time trying to find a love to replace Ledger’s.

“The timing was impossible. I thought falling in love again was the only thing that was going to save me from the pain. This [was an] erroneous idea: It just makes things more complicated,” Michelle says in a new interview for Vogue’s October 2009 issue.

Michelle briefly dated director Spike Jonze earlier this year, a relationship she confirmed has now ended.

The 29-year-old former Dawson’s Creek star admits she doesn’t know how to date with a child, but she’s OK with that.

“I’m falling more and more in love with her,” she says of her 3-year-old daughter Matilda. “Every time I really miss him and wonder where he’s gone, I just look at her (Matilda).”

“And I think she deserves the bulk of my attention. We’re lucky. I can work. She can go to a good school. There’s a lot there for her. And she can know her dad in so many ways, and so many of his friends who will be able to tell her so many stories. His friends, his family — they were a big part of his life, and they will be a big part of her life.”

Michelle revealed that Heath’s death in January last year brought a heavier paparazzi presence into their quiet existence in trendy Brooklyn.

Michelle has an interesting way of explaining the constantly roving cameras to her young Matilda.

“It’s because people really loved your daddy that they want to take your picture, to know you’re all right….”

“They’re in love and absolutely thrilled with each other,” a source told Star. “They don’t see why they should wait much longer.”

Spike and Michelle met on the set of her latest project, Synecdoche, last October. In the months since their first meeting, the Where The Wild Things Are director –the former husband of Sofia Coppola — has not only won over Williams, but he’s a big hit with her young daughter Matilda as well.

“Spike loves being with Matilda,” the source added. “He’s teaching her to skateboard and to ride a bike. He never makes Michelle feel like taking care of her is a burden, because he truly thinks of them all as a family.”

Michelle Williams will not raise her daughter with the late Heath Ledger in entertainment driven Hollywood.

“I wouldn’t raise [Matilda] there. For all the obvious reasons – being the daughter of… Being an actor’s daughter. It’s a town that’s about one thing and I want her to have options,” Michelle told Britain’s Telegraph over the weekend.

The actress is currently promoting the UK release of her independent film, Wendy and Lucy.

“I felt burnt out, I still feel that, but I’m coming back to my wits, little by little,” she said. “Ultimately I am not yet ready to work. I’ve actually really been enjoying not working… I guess everybody enjoys that.”

“I’m going to take a year off. I think I stopped feeling creative a while ago, and I’m just realizing it now,” Michelle say an interview with the New York Times this week.

“I used to have all the time in the world to daydream and even just to dream and let your unconscious do some of the work for you. Now I’m up at five in the morning and I don’t remember what I dreamed about.”

“When I work again, maybe it should be a comedy. I’ve always had a tendency for darker, more life-life material. I think I had this sense that important things are heavier things. I don’t know if that’s true any more…”

On her plans for the future, Michelle says, “I want to humble myself in front of a task like embroidery. I like how physical work can really free your mind.”

Michelle Williams is reportedly dating film producer Michelle Williams Spike Jonze six months after the death of ex-fiancee Heath Ledger.

The 27 year-old former Dawson’s Creek star was spotted smooching Spike, 38, outside his Lower East Side Manhattan apartment July 2.

He is the ex-husband of director Sofia Coppola.

“Michelle kissed Spike with a closed mouth on the corner of his lips,” a celebrity onlooker tells Star Magazine. “There was definitely a bit of caressing going on. She was clutching his arm. The body language was very romantic.”

The alleged couple first met when the actress auditioned for a role in Spike’s film Where The Wild Things Are. More recently, Michelle and Spike worked together on the motion picture Synecdoche, New York.

“Then there is the awful, festering issue of what he was worth, where the money has gone and what there is going to be in the estate for Matilda.”

Actress Michelle Williams is planning to produced a documentary based on the life of her late ex Heath Ledger. The film would feature friends and colleagues sharing their memories of the Oscar-nominated star.

“It makes Michelle’s heart ache that Matilda was so young when Heath died and she’s unlikely to retain any memories of her father,” a tattle spilled to Australia’s Daily Telegraph on Friday.

“She (Williams) wants to keep his spirit alive with something Matilda can treasure all her life.”

Actress Michelle Williams has denied a Tuesday morning report from the New York Post claiming she is boycotting the July 14th premiere of Batman: Dark Knight over a will dispute with Heath Ledger’s family.

“The presumption that Michelle ever intended to attend The Dark Knight premiere is unfounded, but to say she is ‘boycotting’ due to a rift with Heath’s family is absurd,” Williams’s rep Mara Buxbaum said in a statement. “It is time to allow this family to go about their lives without this continued scrutiny and speculation.”

Don’t look for Michelle Williams at the July 14th World Premiere of Dark Knight. The actress is reportedly furious with the family of her late fiance, Heath Ledger, and threatening to boycott the movie opening-and all other events where the family may be present-until the Ledgers agree to provide some financial support for Heath and Michelle’s young daughter, Matilda.

“Michelle is furious with Heath’s family and threatening to boycott the premiere. Matilda is supposed to be the beneficiary of the will, but Michelle has seen nothing from them. Heath’s will was written in 2003, before Matilda was born, and subsequently left everything to his father, mother and sisters. Matilda is now considered the beneficiary, and Grandpa Kim Ledger is the executor, but Michelle fears by the time Matilda is eighteen and able to have full access to her inheritence, there will be nothing left to inherit.

Despite being spotted hitting the NYC club scene less than a week after the death of her rumored late lover, Heath Ledger, billionairess Mary-Kate Olsen is said to be “devastated” over Heath’s passing and has reached out to another from Ledger Lovely, Michelle Williams. “Mary-Kate was hoping she and Michelle could console each other….She was trying to be nice.” But if the hobbit-like Olsen is expecting Michelle to feel her pain, she’d better think twice. Michelle’s got a message for Mary-Kate: Bitch, please!

“She got a message to Michelle that she wanted to talk to her, but so far she hasn’t heard back.”
