The 54-year-old actress, who plays a “Lady of the Night” in Stephen Frears’ new period piece, Cheri, is wondering why the ”world’s oldest profession” has been banned throughout most of the United States.

“There is an argument to be made for providing some protection for prostitutes. It would solve a lot of problems for them. They’re going to do it anyway,” Michelle remarked in one recent interview.

Ashton Kutcher and Michelle Pfeiffer have agreed to star in the Rick Moody adaptation Personal Effects, a film based upon Moody’s Mansion novel On The Hill and tells the tale of a young man trying to deal with the death of his sister.

Ashton has been casted as Andrew Wakefield, a man who gets a job as a wedding planner soon after his sister’s death, and then has to deal with flashbacks of her while he works.

Personal Effects begins shooting on November 26 in Vancouver.

Michelle Pfeiffer, who starred in the 1982 flop Grease 2, will star in an upcoming remake of the original ’70’s classic. And we hear Jessica Simpson is up for the role of Sandy.

Michelle said: “It’s a great idea and I hear they would like to get Jessica Simpson for the role of Sandy, she would be good.”

“I would love to play the school principal. She is fun and has some great put-down lines. I think I would like the part now that I have been asked.”

Michelle has always regretted taking the role of Stephanie Zinone in Grease 2:

“I hated that film with a vengeance and could not believe how bad it was. At the time I was young and didn’t know any better. I hear it’s a cult movie now.”

Forty-nine year old cougar Michelle Pfeiffer has bet old friend George Clooney $100,000 that he will one day get married. The eternal bachelor is convinced he will never make the walk down the aisle.

Michelle told UK talk show host Jonathan Ross:

“He’s just a great guy, great with kids. I bet him he would get married and he keeps inflating the bet – from $100 to $100,000

“I still think he will, he’s a handsome devil.”
