Sony Pictures will host over 25 global premieres, in cities like Los Angeles, London, New York, Berlin, Seoul and Rio de Janeiro, in celebration of Michael Jackson’s concert film This Is it.
“Michael Jackson has an army of fans everywhere around the world,” Sony’s chairman Jeff Blake said.
“By rolling out this film simultaneously worldwide, we are giving audiences an incredible opportunity to join together in celebration of Michael Jackson’s incredible career.”

There will be red carpet arrivals and activities from the Los Angeles event broadcast by satellite to the other premieres taking place.
The film will chronicle the months from March to June 2009, offering fans a behind-the-scenes look at the King of Pop as he created and rehearsed for his sold-out concerts that would have taken place beginning this summer in London’s O2 Arena. The movie contains over 100 hours of footage from rehearsals for the 50 shows MJ had planned to do before he died of an overdose in June.
This Is It opens in theaters Oct. 27.
In a newly released clip promoting the concert film This Is It – a collection rehearsals of what would have been Michael Jackson’s last tour at London’s O2 Arena — fans can see the King of Pop rehearsing his ’80s smash “Human Nature.”

Madonna admits she was shocked by the rejection, because MJ knew provocative songs made her famous.
“We spent time together and became friends. It just never happened. I wrote words and presented them to him, but he didn’t want to go there,” the “Vogue” star explains. “He didn’t want to be provocative. I said, ‘Well, why come to me?’ It’s like asking Quentin Tarantino to not put any violence in his films. I felt he was too shy.”

“The family is close to Omer, as Michael was. He is a fantastic performer and they would like him to play the adult Michael,” The Sun quoted a family friend as saying. “Michael’s story from childhood to the height of success is nothing short of astounding. It needs to be told and that’s what his family want.”

Michael Jackson’s infamous Neverland Ranch will become a major tourist attraction if the late superstar’s family has anything to do with it.
According to the Sept. 22 issue of Globe, the musical Jackson Clan and Colony Capital bankers are in discussions to turn the 2,676-acre ranch into an amusement park, museum, and concert venue, that could open its doors as early as December.
“Michael’s brother Jermaine is really pushing for this. He has a big vision for Neverland,” says a source.
But that vision hasn’t been embraced by everyone. Neighbors in the quiet Santa Barbara community are expected to fight plans to turn their residential street into a tourist trap.
Madonna and Janet Jackson are planning a duet tribute to Michael Jackson.
The two singers are working on a smash single to honor the late King of Pop after bonding over dinner following Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards in New York, OK! Magazine reported Thursday.

Janet honored her brother with a lively dance tribute and Madonna made a tearful six minute speech about her friendship with the music icon in a moving opening to the ceremony.
“With that one performance Janet proved she’s back on top of her game. And who better to join forces with than Madonna?” an insider blabs.
Madge’s dream of singing with MJ was dashed by his death llast June, and now the Queen of Pop is plotting the next best thing – working with his kid sister.
“It was a meeting of two great musical minds. Madonna was so impressed with Janet’s tribute to Michael that they started talking about how great it would be to honour him by doing something together. There was definitely something very interesting being planned between them.”
Michael Douglas & Matt Damon are set to make beautiful music together as gay lovers in the upcoming Liberace biopic director by Steven Soderbergh.
Michael will play the flamboyant piano-playing music legend, and Matt will take on the role of his 24-year-old live-in lover, Scott Thorson. In 1982, Thorson famosly sued Liberace for $113 million in palimony, despite the entertainer’s vehement denial that he was gay.
The trailer for the Michael Jackson’s posthumous concert film This Is It debuted during the MTV Video Music Awards at New York’s Radio City Music Hall on Sunday night.
The film was culled from hundreds of hours of footage from MJ’s final rehearsals at Los Angeles’ Staples Center for his planned 50-concert run at London’s O2 Arena. The two-week-only theatrical engagement for This Is It begins Oct. 28.
