Cameron Douglas, 31, pleaded guilty to heroin possession — a charge stemming from allegations that his girlfriend tried to smuggle the drug to him in an electric toothbrush while he was under house arrest.
The ill-fated actor was arrested by DEA agents for his role in an elaborate drug ring operating out of the Hotel Gansevoort on July 28.

Investigators say Cameron was paid tens of thousands of dollars for trafficking meth – what he referred to in intercepted phone calls as “pastry” or “bath salts” — and cash and drugs were routinely exchanged from coast to coast through shippers like FedEx.

Cameron has appeared in several movies, including 2003’s It Runs in the Family –co-starring dad Michael and grandfather Kirk Douglas. Douglas faces a minimum 10-year prison term when he is sentenced April 27.

Cameron was arrested in New York City last week for possession with intent to distribute a “massive amount” of crystal methamphetamine.

According to The Post, Douglas was arrested by the Drug Enforcement Administration at the trendy Hotel Gansevoort in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District with $10,000 and about half a pound of crystal meth in his possession.

A spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney for the Southern District said the office had no comment, but the New York City Police Department confirmed that “the feds took him in.”

In 2007, Douglas was arrested for felony possession of a controlled substance.

Michael Douglas and director Oliver Stone have inked a deal to reunite for the sequel to their 1987 hit Wall Street — and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen star Shia LaBeouf is reportedly in negotiations to join them.

Douglas earned a Best Actor Academy Award for his role as Gordon Gekko in the original film. A young Charlie Sheen starred as a trader who compromises his integrity for the job.

The sequel will once again follow a young trader learning the ropes on Wall Street.

The flamboyant Las Vegas pianist and television mainstay died of complications from AIDS in 1987.

Director Scott Soderbergh, who previously worked with Douglas in the 2001 film Traffic, will get behind the camera for the biopic.

“Michael sees Liberace as a potential Oscar-winning role,” a source close to the talks told Variety on Thursday.

Matt Damon, star of Soderbergh’s The Informant, has landed on deck for the role of Scott Thorson, Liberace’s lover who sued him for $113 million in palimony following a bitter split in 1982. Liberace denied he was gay until the day of his last breath.

In fact, in 1957, the classically-trained musician successfully sued Britain’s Daily Mirror for suggesting he was gay. Liberace was livid when veteran Mirror columnist Cassandra (Sir William Neil Connor) described him as “fruit-flavored.”

Liberace and Thorson settled the suit for $95,000 in 1986.

MICHAEL DOUGLAS has been selected as the newest NBC Nightly News. The two-time Academy Award winner’s new gig will allow him to introduce Nightly News host BRIAN WILLIAMS each weekday evening. The legendary actor’s recorded introduction was first heard over the airwaves on Monday, The Associated Press reports.

Brian said of Michael: “I appealed to Michael’s sense of romance and sentimentality and his love of the industry.”

Celebrity tattles tell us that the six year old May/December romance between Oscar winners Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas could be in trouble.

“Catherine Zeta Jones was spotted eating alone yesterday days after a long term friend of the star spoke out to a UK magazine sparking rumours that the stars eight year [sic - they married in November, 2000] marriage could be trouble. Catherine who is married to Michael Douglas, has reportedly experienced more downs in her marriage of late than ups. Their most recent row being in New York during a ceremony when Michael accepted the role of an ambassador with the UN. Catherine reportedly was in tears.

Strains have also developed due to Micheal’s happiness for a quiet life at home, while Catherine has strong desires to make another film and earn another Oscar. Rumours were fuelled further when Catherine recently held the hand of her co star from No Reservations at an awards show in Miami, days after Michael joked he’d like to star in a movie with his wife so he could do away with her.

Well, turns out that happened to Michael Douglas. Quoth the Star Pulse: “I took my kids down to the ocean the other day and we had a little problem – we have jellyfish. I got stung actually pretty bad, across my back just last week. There’s sort of a remedy that we’ve all heard…urine. It’s the remedy if you have a bad sting. So I asked my five-year-old son if he would pee-pee on my back. He looked at me like he’d gone to heaven.”

I could have done without the last line, Michael. it was all good and gravy until I had to imagine your could in rapturous joy because he gets to, uhh, “expel” on your back. But this would make a wacky misadventure for Grady Tripp, Douglas’ character in “Wonder Boys.” Or not. Somebody talk to Michael Chabon or Curtis Hansen about this…
