Metallica Concert Riot In Colombia

Metallica sure knows how to rock a crowd: Nearly 170 people were arrested Wednesday night after hundreds of fans tried to break into a Metallica concert in Bogota, Colombia. Police used water cannons and tear gas to disperse rioting concertgoers. Members of the nation’s military were on standby ahead of the gig following reports that the band’s show in Santiago, Chile was marred by rioting in January. More than 1,500 officials were organized to patrol the streets around Simon Bolivar Park ahead of Wednesday’s concert. Despite the extra efforts, at least eight people were injured when hundreds of fans without tickets attempted to force their way into the sold out performance.

Metallica Fans Boycott Band’s First Israeli Concert In 10 Years

Metallica fans in Israel have vowed to boycott the band’s upcoming show in Tel Aviv amid complaints of soaring ticket prices. The hitmakers are scheduled to play at Ramat Gan Stadium on May 22 in what will be the band’s first concert in Israel since 1999. But the news has promoted outrage from fans who argue that tickets should be selling for significantly cheaper than the $159 minimum asking price.
