Dance Your Ass Off host Melanie “Mel B” Brown is remaining tight-lipped on rampant whispers that her marriage to British businessman Stephen Belafonte is in the crapper. Belafonte apparently announced the split himself in an telephone outburst to UK tabloid The Daily Mail.

Mel B and hubby are in trouble with the law…A Los Angeles man has filed suit against the host of Oxygen’s Dance Your Ass Off and her spouse — Stephen Belafonte — claiming he received a beatdown at the hands the couple and one of their employees after the trio mistook him for a member of the paparazzi.

We hear former Spice Girl Melanie “Scary Spice” Brown is in the running to fill the vacant co-host seat on ABC’s Dancing With The Stars. Brown, who will host the forthcoming second season of Oxygen’s Dance Your Ass Off, finished second on a previous season of DWTS.

Mel has also provided commentary on the competition of TV newsmagazine Access Hollywood.

Mel is the brains behind a new range of the fancy lollis created to help women lose weight. The former Spice Girl joined the reality starlet on the red carpet at Hollywood hotspot Guys & Dolls last night to launch the new sweets. The Sweet Factory “Couture Pops” are available in “Silver Rainbow” and “Champagne” flavors and feature a glitzy colored stick.
