Meg White is engaged to musician Jackson Smith, the son of punk singer Patti Smith and late MC5 guitarist Fred “Sonic” Smith, a publicist for The White Stripes drummer confirmed early Tuesday

Publicist Chloe Walsh says the couple will wed later this year, but couldn’t confirm other details. The Detroit Free Press first reported Meg’s wedding plans on Saturday.

Reps for White Stripes star Meg White are denying a sex tape leaked to the Net on Monday actually feature the drummer:

“Some people have a very twisted sense of humor and this prank is in particularly bad taste. The tape circulating on the Internet as featuring Meg White is fake. It’s definitely not Meg.”
