Flamboyant Austrian fashion guru Bruno (comedian Sacha Baron Cohen) shared his dreams of fashion fame with Matt Lauer on The TODAY Show Thursday.

The back and forth barbing ended in tears after Matt informed Bruno that the Austrian Minister to Great Britain had called for a boycott of his new movie, Bruno, do to its misrepresentation of the Austrian people.

Emil Brix, who was recently appointed Austria’s top British envoy, has said the star’s gags about his country are “cheap”.

“It’s totally inappropriate. Everybody should speak up against that.”

Bruno sashay chantes its way into theaters everywhere this Friday, July 10.

Poor Matt Lauer was the butt of yet another deer during his guest appearance on the Late Night With Jimmy Fallon Tuesday night.

With his arm secured in a sling, Matt returned to his seat on TODAY this morning for the first time since a collision with a deer sent him falling over the handlebars of his bike in Long Island last weekend.

“I feel good,” Matt told co-host Ann Curry. “I doubled up on the meds so I’m ready for all your jokes.”

Matt Lauer is recuperating from surgery to repair the shoulder he separated when he fell off his bike avoiding a deer over the weekend.

The TODAY Show co-host was riding his bike on Long Island over weekend when a deer jumped in his path. The 51-year-old “flew over the handlebars” as he tried to avoid the animal. Luckily, Matt was wearing a helmet.

Fellow anchor Ann Curry says the operation went “very well,” but Matt is probably in “a lot of pain.”

NBC correspondent Lester Holt, who’s is filing in for the recovering Matt, says the longtime anchor hopes to be back on the show later this week.

The TODAY co-host was riding his bicycle this weekend when a deer jumped into his path. He flipped over the bike’s handlebars and was slightly hurt. On The TODAY Show Monday, Meredith Vieira joked that Matt thinks the deer was hired by the “competition.”

“Matt’s banged up with a displaced shoulder, it popped out,” she said. “So hopefully he’ll be on the mend soon.”

In an interview with The Today Show’s Matt Lauer, Olympic champion Michael Phelps speaks out about the now infamous photo of him smoking marijuana from a bong.

“It was– really, you know, the people I hurt, you know, is my family, clearly. My friends,” he says. “The close people around me. And most importantly, the fans. And– and, you know, I realize that that hurt a lot of people.”

While the 23-year-old admits that what he did was “bad judgement” and “a mistake,” he insists he and his friends were just celebrating: “I mean, we were just celebrating, honestly. And– you know, there was probably two or three people there I didn’t know. It was a very small group. Six or seven people probably total in the whole house. Like nothing major. You know, not like a giant college house party. It was nothing like that. It was just a small group and we were just sitting around and celebrating.”

Matt’s interview with the Olympic hero will air on The TODAY Show this Friday, March 13 — and again on Sunday, March 15 on Dateline at 7PM EST.
