On Friday, Program Partners announced that the midday chatfest won’t be going forward with its original Fall 2009 launch date due to the economy and recent downturns in the broadcasting industry.

“I want to express my deep appreciation for the faithful support and dedication shown by the numerous stations,” Marie said from backstage at the Flamingo in Las Vegas. “It was my sincere desire to return their enthusiastic responses by producing an exceptional talk show for their fall schedules; produced with the high quality that is associated with the Marie Osmond brand for over four decades. This project, under proper conditions, still remains a strong passion of mine.”

Maybe she doesn’t want to compete with Wendy Williams? After all, the “Queen of All Media” is now being toted the “Queen of Daytime.”

Marie Osmond denies that she is ashamed her daughter Jessica is a lesbian.

The ’70s teen idol has rubbished tabloid reports claiming her strict Mormon faith has prevented her from accepting her daughter’s sexuality.

“I love my daughter, she’s my baby girl… So what if she’s gay,” Osmond — an mother of eight tells GBLT-friendly publication The Advocate.

Marie has even encouraged Jessica, 21, to wed her lover of three years.

“You know, on those types of things I’m very supportive. When it comes to marriage, I think that civil rights need to be for all,” she added.

“I think it’s sad when we have to separate something from society… There are a lot of women out there who have gay children, who cares?” the 49-year-old said. “I want love. I’m a Christian and Christ was that way – he loved everybody.”

Sibiling singing duo Donny and Marie Osmond will begin headlining their own Las Vegas show at the Flamingo Hotel & Casino on September 9th. Donny & Marie will be a 90-minute showcase of their greatest hits, featuring impressive multimedia effects and a large cast of dancers.

“What Las Vegas has been missing is a true variety show that conveys the real essence of America and the country’s love of homegrown talent,” said the show’s co-presenter and longtime Vegas entertainer Danny Gans. “We felt Donny and Marie provided the perfect combination and something that no one else was making available.”

“We are going into the Flamingo for six months,” Marie said in an interview wiith Entertainment Tonight. “They wanted us to do a longer stint, but we said we will do the six months.”

Donny & Marie will run Tuesdays through Saturdays at 7:30 p.m., with an additional Saturday matinee at 3:30 p.m. Tickets go on sale April 28th at the Flamingo Box Office.

Donny and Marie Osmond will co-host NBC’s Mother’s Day night special America’s Favorite Mom. The May 11th airing will feature the Osmonds crowning one amazing mom as the title winner, per the results of an online viewer polling.

“When the concept was first presented to us – Donny and Marie on a Mother’s Day special – I thought, ‘Oh, everybody’s gonna need an insulin shot,’” Donny told The Associated Press. “But we’re not just talking about traditional moms. It shows real moms in real situations, and with some of them, you think: How do they do it?”

“They’re empowering for other women,” Marie added. “They inspire other mothers to say, ‘I’m not alone. I can get through this, too.’”

The Osmonds will host the Miss US. pageant live from Sin City’s Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino next month. The April 11th event will mark the first time Donny Osmond and his pop singing sister Marie Osmond have hosted a primetime show together since 2000.

Marie Osmond has confirmed earlier reports she will return to the small screen with her own talk show. The daytime chatfest, simply titled Marie, is set to premiere in the Fall of 2009.

“I want it to be a fun show, that girlfriend destination where we can all laugh a little bit, cry a little bit and just enjoy life,” Marie says.

“It felt like the right time, the right partners, everyone involved,” she says. “You know, you live enough life and after a while you go, ‘Okay, maybe I’ve been through enough things that I think I’m semi-intelligent on certain subjects!’”

After displaying an undeniable popularity as a finalist on Season Five of Dancing With The Stars, Marie Osmond has landed her own daytime talk show, and possibly her own ABC sitcom.

Fresh off her Dancing With The Stars stint, Marie Osmond has landed her own talk show. The Marie Osmond Show will debut in 2008 and will feature celebrity interviews. Director and producer Ron Scott reveals, “Marie makes the perfect talk show hostess because people feel like they can relate to her. She has experienced her own share of ups and downs and hopes to inspire viewers.”

We give it two months. There’s no way she can compete with the likes of Maury, AKA You Are NOT The Father. I don’t go anywhere when You Are NOT The Father is on!

Marie Osmond has designed six “Dancing with the Stars” dolls for sale exclusively on home shopping network QVC. Possibly inspired by the seventies’ icon’s odd doll dance during Monday night’s Season Finale of DWS? Each doll wears an outfit Marie wore during her run on the reality show and are priced at approximately $90. Does anyone else find this a little….creepy?

Featured dolls included: The Boogie Woogie doll, the Paso Doble doll, the Quickstep doll and the (controversial) season finale Freestyle doll.

The first two dolls in the collection—the samba doll (a.k.a. the fainting doll) and the fox trot doll—sold out in eight minutes.
