The 38-year-old powerhouse reportedly dropped $200,000 on baby girl furniture during a recent tour of a children’s store in San Francisco. Mariah purchased a pink crib and highchair for the new Hollywood home she’s buying with husband Nick Cannon, 28.
The couple is moving from New York to L.A. so that the singing star can concentrate on her budding career in film. Nick will be on the West Coast for his new gig as host of America’s Got Talent. Nick and Mariah are said to be eyeing a $125 million French chateau near the Playboy Mansion.
The New York native is said to be turning her back on her Big Apple roots in favor of life in the City of Angels, where she will continue working on her recently revived acting career. The multiplatinum-selling singer just got rave reviews for her role in the independent film Tennessee.
A Page Six tattle says:
“She and [husband] Nick Cannon are looking for houses in Santa Monica. They want to move to Los Angeles permanently. She wants to act more and she has to be on the West Coast to do that. And well, then, he’s got his . . . career. Whatever that is.”
