Mariah Carey regrets writing a public message apologizing for her shaky performance — “It was kinda pitchy, dawg” — at Michael Jackson’s memorial service last July.
Mariah took the stage at the Staples Center in Los Angeles last summer as the nation came to a standstill to mourn the King of Pop. The songbird sang the Jackson 5 hit “I’ll Be There” — a hit for Mariah in 1991 — during the service, but struggled to hit notes and fought back tears as she performed. Read the rest of this entry »

Pop diva Mariah Carey has revived Foreigner’s classic love anthem “I Want to Know What Love Is.” The British-American rock band’s 1984 ballad will be featured on Mariah’ long-awaited 12th studio album Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel, due out on Sept. 29th, Showbiz 411 has learned.
The release of Mariah Carey’s upcoming 12th studio album has been delayed for a second time.
Memoirs Of An Imperfect Angel, which was originally scheduled for release on August 29 and then September 15, will now arrive two weeks later on September 29.
Mariah has also pulled out of a string of live performances scheduled to coincide with the album’s original release date, including appearances on VH1 Storytellers, TODAY, the MTV Video Music Awards, and her Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony.
A source at Def Jam tells Reuters that the star has returned to the studio to record additional songs for the album.
Mariah Carey has pulled out of a live performance on The TODAY Show’s Summer Concert Series later this month, promoting teen starlet Miley Cyrus to step in and replace her.
Nick Cannon declared his love for wife of 15 months Mariah Carey live on America’s Got Talent Wednesday night.
The pop diva — who Nick brands his “beautiful soulmate” — appeared on the stage of the NBC talent show, which Cannon hosts, to perform her new single “Obsessed.”
“Make some noise for the amazing Mariah Carey!” Cannon exclaimed, introducing his wife to viewers.
Talk show hostess Wendy Williams is weighing in on the feud brewing between Eminem and celebrity spouses Nick Cannon and Mariah Carey.
Not only does the new Queen of Daytime believe “Mariah started” the hoopla that resulted in her being royally dissed on Em’s newly-released track “The Warning,” Wendy also contends that MC’s rapper hubby needs to do something besides quote Bible scriptures on Twitter to defend his wife’s honor.
In what could become a new trend in the music industry, when Mariah Carey’s new album Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel CD is released on Sept. 15, it will be accompanied by a 34-page mini-magazine, featuring ads for Elizabeth Arden, Angel Champagne, and The Bahamas Board of Tourism, MSNBC’s The Scoop has learned.
The mini magazine, containing “Mariah-centric editorial” along with lyrics and other CD booklet elements, was designed by Elle Magazine. Read the rest of this entry »
(Shots fired!) Eminem is going in on former flame Mariah Carey and her happy go lucky hubby Nick Cannon on a new diss track titled “The Warning.”
Apparently, Em wasn’t too fond of Mariah’s spoof of him in the “Obsessed” video. Awwz, poor widdle Marshall! I’m no Mariah fan, but at least she kept her response classy. Em is just being profane and childish — but what else is new? She denied screwing you. Get over it already. Futhermore, the fact that he’s taking things so personally and wasting his time recording tomfoolery just proves that he likely did have deep feelings for her, and probably still does. No one gets this worked up and spends such a significant amount of time on a person who never meant anything to them…
But with verse like, “Bitch, Shut The Fuck Up Before I Put All Them Calls Out You Made To My House,” this is one celebrity feud that’s only just begun to get ugly.
Some of the most eagerly-awaited albums of the summer have been delayed, including Mariah Carey’s Memoirs of an Imperfect Angel, Sean “Diddy” Combs’ Last Train to Paris, and Lil Wayne’s debut rock and roll album, Rebirth.
Memoirs, which was first slated for an August 25 release via Island Def Jam, will now be available September 15. According to the Universal Music Group website, Carey’s new single, “Obsessed,” is at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week.
A new date has not yet been scheduled for Rebirth. In an interview with MTV News last week, Diddy confessed that he was pushing back his album’s release to avoid competition with hip-hop heavyweights Jay-Z and Drake.
