Maria Shriver revealed plans Tuesday to return to network news after a nine-year hiatus.

The 57-year-old First Lady of California has accepted a role as a special anchor for NBC News — a gig which will see her report news across multiple properties including NBC News, CNBC, MSNBC and NBC Sports. Shriver vows to focus on “examining the profound impact that women’s rising influence and leadership has had on all aspects of American culture and society.”
