The new Melrose Place may follow in the footsteps of sister show Beverly Hills, 90210 in more ways than one. Taking a hint from producers of the new 90210, bosses with the upcoming CW series Melrose Place will bring back some of the cast members from the original show, television industry tipsters have revealed to The National Enquirer.

One series original reportedly returning to the set of Melrose is Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross.

Marcia, who played bad girl vixen Dr. Kimberly Shaw for five years on the FOX soap, will join the new cast for at least three episodes airing next fall.

Melrose Place debuted on FOX in July 1992 and ran for nine seasons before leaving the air in May 2000.

Marcia Cross’ cancer-stricken husband is in for the fight of life, according to the actress’ mother.

Tom Mahoney was diagnosed with the disease last year and Marcia’s mom, Janet Cross, admits it is not yet known if Tom will survive his battle with the aggressive illness.

“It’s heartbreaking to see Tom so ill – he’s got a big battle ahead of him,” Janet told Britain’s Closer Magazine this week.

Wait, why is her mom talking to the press about this? Oh, never mind! Anywho….

“It just breaks my heart that they’ve only just found each other fairly recently and he might not be around to watch the kids grow up. They are the most romantic pair too,” she adds. “I just hope Tom gets better, so they can have more of a normal life again. His chemotherapy has been so grueling and it’s been tough, but they’re in love and doing the best they can.”

The Desperate Housewives star, who is 46, met stockbroker Tom, 51, in early 2005.They were married in June 2006.

Tom and Marica have two-year-old twin daughters, Eden and Savannah.

Marcia Cross’s husband has been diagnosed with cancer, People Magazine reports.

A representative for the Desperate Housewives star confirmed that stockbroker Tom Mahoney is suffering from the potential deadly disease, but refused to offer any further information.

“He is currently under treatment and is responding very well,” said publicist Heidi Slan.

Marcia, who plays “Bree Hodge” on the popular ABC drama, married Tom in June 2006.

The couple have 23-month-old twin daughters Eden and Savannah.

Desperate Housewives star Marcia Cross is desperate to get the nude photos of her and her hairy muff off the World Wide Web. The intimate snapshots were among 200 personal photographs found by a firm hired to clean garbage from Marcia’s Los Angeles home in October 2006.
