A nearly naked Lady Liberty? How Gaga of them!

Pop “It Girl” of the Hour Lady Gaga and Design God Marc Jacobs are perched on September’s “The New York Issue” of V Magazine, honoring the fashion and art of the City That Never Sleeps.

In photographer Mario Testino’s new V spread, a sneaky-looking Marc Jacobs tosses a haggard old bag Lady Liberty/Gaga (styled by Nicola Formichetti) into his cart next to the cocktail wienies and cat food.

“Just as the Statue of Liberty was France’s gift to America, Gaga is, to us, New York’s greatest gift to pop culture and fashion…she has become a bonafide genius and we can safely declare her our muse,” says V editor Stephen Gan.

Marc Jacobs has reportedly split from hubby Lorenzo Martone less than four months after the lovers tied the knot in a ceremony in St. Barts.

Lorenzo Martone, the longtime boyfriend of Marc Jacobs, has confirmed that he wed the famed fashion designer while the two vacationed in St. Barts during the holidays. The couple, who had been dating since 2008, announced their engagement last March. The marriage isn’t official yet because the couple still has to sign wedding documents, but Martone, 30, tells Butt Magazine (Butt?!) that he and Marc tied the knot at a friend’s home on New Year’s Day.

“In the end, we just had an intimate ceremony at a friend’s house with people who were already on the island,” he says. “Although the official wedding documents won’t be signed till later this year, so legally we’re not married yet,” Martone adds.

Jacobs, 46, has not commented.

On Tuesday, the blogosphere went into overdrive with whispers that Marc Jacobs and longtime love Lorenzo Martone said “I Do” in St. Barth’s over the holidays. photos of the designer and his Brazilian fiance posing in front of what looked like a wedding cake while on vacation in St. Barts were posted online Monday, further fueling the rumors

Not so fast, says a spokeswoman for the designer. There was not a wedding, and Marc and Lorenzo remain are happily engaged.
