After shocking the entertainment world with a memoir filled with drugs, rock n’ roll, and incest five months ago, High on Arrival writer Mackenzie Phillips has undergone a complete plastic surgery makeover. The former rock princess and child star recently dropped $50,000 on Botox, Restylane, laser treatments on her face, dental veneers, and hair extensions as part of her campaign to “love herself from the inside out.”
The rehab vet debuted her new look with appearances on Good Morning America and The View on Wednesday.
Mackenzie Phillips is changing her tune about her alleged incestuous relationship with her late father, rock legend John Phillips.
In her 2009 autobiography High on Arrival, Phillips claimed that she had a romantic relationship with her father, — founder of the ’60s singing group The Mamas and The Papas — for more than a decade. Now the former child star, who has since been disowned by her family, wants the public to know the affair was not consensual.
“I’d like to reframe my word consensual,” Mackenzie — joined by Celebrity Rehab’s Dr. Drew — explained in an interview on The Joy Behar Show this week. “As I was writing the book, I thought, this word, it kept sitting wrong with me. But I used it for lack of a better word. Since then, I’ve been schooled by thousands of incest survivors all across the world that there really is no such thing as consensual incest due to the inherent power a parent has over a child. So, I wouldn’t necessarily call it a consensual relationship at this time.”
In a new tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey, Mackenzie Phillips recalls shocking memories of using drugs with her famous father — singer John Phillips of The Mamas And The Papas — her lifelong struggle drug use, and her alleged romp with Rolling Stones’ frontman Mick Jagger when she was 18.
“My father shot me up for the first time,” the One Day At Time star, now 49, reveals on a promo for tomorrow’s Oprah. “I remember going into my room, I was crouched on the floor. … He put the needle in my arm and put the plunger in and he missed. He missed the vein and my whole arm went numb.” Read the rest of this entry »
