Jazzy powerhouse Joss Stone has launched a scathing attack on fellow British singer Lily Allen, by criticizing the “Smile” star’s singing prowness and her unpopular campaign against illegal file-sharing.

“[Lily] needs to sell records because she’s not a singer, and that’s not an offense to her because I think that she knows that too,” Joss — who has previously been accused of sleeping with producers for access to coveated beats — told The Press Association on Wednesday. “I think she’s a performer and she’s more of a personality than she is a singer. But I think when musicians are really making real music people come to the show and that’s what we make our money from, from playing live. And I think it’s probably harder for an artist like Lily and any other pop acts.”

Lily is currently campaigning to try and make internet file sharing a criminal offense in the UK. It is an effort Joss finds pointless.

“…She’s not going to win that fight. None of us will win that fight. So let’s just accept it and let’s see it as something that can be beautiful and it might change music for the better. It might sort the weeds from the flowers,” Joss remarked.

“Who said that musicians have to be millionaires? Who made this a rule? We don’t need that much money. We just don’t. We only need enough to make music and to eat and to go on tour.”

“I’m setting up a record label at the moment, getting involved in lots of different things… I think things need to change in the music industry and we need to rethink a lot of stuff.”

Earlier this month, Lily announced she would take a break from recording after releasing two hit albums and a collection of Top 10 singles in the UK.

Rarely one to mince words, the “Smile” singer has decided to close down her online blog, which aimed to curb illicit file-sharing, as followers began hurling profane slurs at her.

Lily will also not attend an upcoming summit meeting on the issue, The Daily Express reports.

“There is a meeting today in London where artists are meeting to discuss Piracy. My job done. I won”t be attending the meeting because it’’s going to be a press frenzy and I don”t want to detract from the issues,” Lily Tweeted Thursday.

“I”m proud of the fact that that I”ve been involved with this debate but I”m passing the baton on to other artists,” she later added. “And I”ve shut down the blog, the abuse was getting too much.”

(Insert eye-roll here…We’ve got five bucks that says she’ll turn into another Jay-Z and go on to record 30 additional albums.)

Lily is leading a campaign to crack down on online file-sharing in the U.K., encouraging music lovers to support the struggling industry by purchasing their favorite tracks legally. And she has taken to her blog to tell fans she has nothing from the fight – because she is officially hanging up her microphone.

“Just so you know, I have not renegotiated my record contract and have no plans to make another record (applause),” she wrote. “I do however remain a fan of new music, so this is not some selfish crusade. The days of me making money from recording music has been and gone as far as I’m concerned, so I don’t (at this point) stand to profit from legislation, except future purchases of previously recorded material (which won’t be much).”

The stars were snapped sunbathing on a yacht in the South of France as they shared a rolled-up joint. Allen passed the joint to Moss, who was laying down on the deck.

The bags, which are reversable and can be turned inside, will premiere this October.

“I love jewelry. Always have done,” says the “Smile” singer. “I’m really pleased with all the designs. We worked hard on getting them exactly how we wanted them, from choosing the right chain length and thickness, to deciding what should be in gold and what looks better in silver.”

The “Smile” singer was scheduled to appear at Benicassim Festival on July 17, but was forced to cancel after coming down with a bout of gastroenteritis.

“She is very sorry to let fans down and hopes to be back to full strength as soon as possible,” a rep for the singer wrote on her MySpace.com Blog.

Lily later took to her Twitter.com page to later express her regret at having to miss the festival, writing, “Wish I was at Benicassim, got a bug and been vomiting all day. Thank you to the lady who gave me a bag to vomit in at Gatwick (airport) this morning.”
