
Soccer star David Beckham and songbird Leona Lewis, two of Britain’s hottest celebs, have signed on to appear at the closing ceremony for the controversial Beijing Summer Olympics, to be held August 8th-24th, 2008. Leona and Becks will be featured in a “handover performance,” in which the 2012 Olympics Games are officially passed on to London.

Amy Winehouse and Beyonce Knowles have some new competition in the battle over who will sing the theme song in the forthcoming twenty-second film in the James Bond franchise, James Bond and the Quantum of Solace. Music mogul Simon Cowell is urging the film’s producers to select international chart-topper Leona Lewis for the sought-after gig. Simon is convinced his X-Factor protege would be ideal for the theme because she has experienced massive success in both the UK and the States.

“I don’t wear little miniskirts and low-cut tops.
