Have you heard the tune that could make Grammy-nominated singer an Oscar winner next year? Talent show sensation Leona Lewis collaborated with the composer and producer behind Celine Dion’s Academy Award-winning hit “My Heart Will Go On” for the theme song to James Cameron’s new 3D space opera, Avatar.
The new song was written and produced by composer James Horner and producer Simon Franglen, both of whom worked on the signature song from 1997′s box office smash Titanic.
“I See You” will play over the closing credits of Avatar, which arrives in cinemas this weekend and has alredy generated Oscar buzz after landing a Best Picture Golden Globe nomination. The film tells the tale of an alien race defending their land against human invasion.
A schizophrenic man charged with attacking singer Leona Lewis during a London book signing last October has pleaded guilty to assaulting the star and been ordered to remain in hospital under Britain’s Mental Health Act.
Peter Kowalczyk, 29, appeared at London’s City of Westminster Magistrates Court to answer a charge of common assault. According to court documents, the pop star was left with redness and swelling to the face, and whiplash symptoms after being punched by Kowalczyk. Read the rest of this entry »
She’s already a talent show sensation, but songbird Leona Lewis is hoping she’ll soon be a double Oscar winner. The Grammy-nominated Brit has two soundtrack tunes in the running for the Best Original Song category.
Leona’s current single “Happy” is featured in the critically-acclaimed Tyler Perry and Oprah Winfrey-produced film Precious, the story of an overweight, illiterate teen who goes to an alternative school in search of a better life.
“I’m just so proud of it cos I wrote it, and to be associated with a film like Precious, which is about trying to overcome troubles and trials in your life,” Leona, 24, said of the song. “I’m glad that someone got that message.” Read the rest of this entry »
Vegetarian Leona Lewis is considering launching an animal friendly fashion line with designer Stella McCartney.
The “Happy” singer, who in 2008 was voted the “World’s Sexiest Vegetarian” by animal rights group People For The Ethical Treatment of Animals, met with designer Stella – who shares Leona’s views on the use of animal products in fashion – to discuss the possibility of her releasing her own collection products.
