Screen legend Lauren Bacall has issued a royal diss to The Twilight Saga because the cinematic film series is not nearly as exciting as the vampire flicks of Old Hollywood.

The Hollywood star sat down to watch the 2008 blockbuster with her grandchildren recently and was so disappointed by what she saw that she has decided to give filmgoers a lesson in identifying truly frightening films.

“Yes, I saw Twilight – my granddaughter made me watch it, she said it was the greatest vampire film ever. After the ‘film’ was over I wanted to smack her across her head with my shoe, but I do not want a (tell-all) book called Grannie Dearest written on me when I die. So instead I gave her a DVD of Murnau’s 1922 masterpiece Nosferatu and told her, ‘Now that’s a vampire film!’ and that goes for all of you! Watch Nosferatu instead!” Bacall revealed on her Twitter.com page Tuesday.

Lauren Bacall has joined the rest of the American population in branding Tom Cruise a few french fries short of a Happy Meal.

In fact, the screen legend believes the once dashing action star is a complete “maniac.”
