“D.O.A.” rapper Jay-Z and nine-time VMA nominee Lady Gaga will join Green Day, Pink, Taylor Swift, and Muse as performers at the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, airing live Sunday, Sept. 12 @ 9PM, the network revealed in a statement Wednesday.

Lady Gaga is “delighted” to be battling it out with Beyonce for nine moonmen at this year’s MTV Video Music Awards.

The pop vocalists are up for a whooping nine nominations each at next month’s ceremony in New York. Both ladies are up against fellow divas Katy Perry, Kelly Clarkson, Pink, and Taylor Swift in the “Best Female Video” category. They’ll go head-to-head with Eminem, Britney Spears, and hip-hop heavyweight Kanye West for the coveted “Video Of The Year” prize.

She says: “So excited! I can’t believe it. I’m delighted to be in Beyonce’s company, and I can’t wait to go to the awards show and hopefully kick some ass.”

The 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, hosted by Russell Brand, will air live from Radio Music Hall in New York City on September 12.

PETA is reportedly courting “Love Game” singer Lady Gaga to join the hoards of celebs who have stripped down for their “I’d Rather Go Naked Than Wear Fur” ad campaign.

Is Lady Gaga a hermaphrodite? Eh…not likely. Nonetheless, that’s the scoop heating up the blogosphere this Friday afternoon.

The androgynous vamp has promoted speculation that she was born with male and female genitals after video and photo images emerged this week revealing a bulge in her nether-regions.

Cameltoe, perhaps?

In addition, there’s a “quote” making the rounds, in which the “Poker Face” star allegedly confirms that she is, in fact, a hermaphrodite:

“It’s not something that I’m ashamed of, just isn’t something that i go around telling everyone. Yes. I have both male and female genitalia, but i consider myself a female. Its just a little bit of a penis and really doesnt interfere much with my life. the reason I haven’t talked about it is that its not a big deal to me. like come on. its not like we all go around talking about our vags. I think this is a great opportunity to make other multiple gendered people feel more comfortable with their bodies. I’m sexy, I’m hot. i have both a poon and a peener. big fucking deal.”

This just in: Beyonce and Lady GaGa lead the nominations for this year’s MTV Video Music Video Awards, with each songstress earning nine Moonmen nods apiece.

Pop princess Britney Spears is worried that the “LoveGame” hitmaker is copying her trendsetting on-stage persona. Brit has been particularly on guard since GaGa — who was once believed to be the victim of “swagger-jacking at the hands of Christina Aguilera — was snapped in Toronto this month sporting ensembles that looked suspiciously “Spears-like.”

Even BritneySpears.com bosses noticed the similarities between the two pop divas — similarities that have shaken the 27-year-old who popped onto the music scene more than a decade ago.

A source tells Star: “On the one hand, Britney appreciates that GaGa is so into her look because it shows she respects her, but Britney worries that GaGa is encroaching on her territory…As long as it doesn’t completely steal her thunder, she’s OK with it.”

Lady Gaga popped out of her bra during an energetic performance in Ibiza on Tuesday.

The American Idol alum — a big Gaga fan — is seen here performing his acoustic version of the dance track on German radio July 2.

Bosses of a breakfast television broadcast in the UK demanded that quirky pop sensation Lady Gaga tone down her daring stage attire to avoid offending some of the show’s more conservative viewers.

The hitmaker dropped by Britain’s GMTV on Thursday to perform her new hit single Paparazzi,” but producers were concerned about how her signature skimpy outfits and provocative dancing moves would go over with viewers. Gaga was asked to cut out the racier elements of her performance out of respect for the audience — that meant no riding on anyone’s “disco stick” while cameras were rolling.

“She finally agreed to tone it down. The nation would have been coughing up cornflakes if she’d had her way,” a source told The Sun Friday.
