Sex And The City’s Kristin Davis is set to star in the new NBC project The Happiness Project, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Kristin Davis was as disturbed as the rest of us to see little Taylor Lautner showing off the abs and guns on the pages of GQ’s November issue. It’s not natural, we tell you. The Sex And The City stylista worked with Taylor in 2005’s epic box office failure The Adventures of Sharkboy and Lavagirl 3-D, she says she feels “protective” over the Twilight star and has a tough time adjusting to his new status as a Hollywood hottie.
“Oh, the youngster! He was the Sharkboy, and I played the mother of the other kid who imagined Sharkboy and Lavagirl in Robert Rodriguez’s movie, and I met him down in Texas. Kristin Davis initiially tried out for the part of Carrie Bradshaw before landing the role of straight-laced Uptown Girl Charlotte York on Sex And The City.
The 44-year-old has played Charlotte on the hit HBO series as well as in its two subsequent movie incarnations since 1998.

Davis met Sex creator Darren Star in 1995 when she played the devious Brooke Armstrong for one season on Melrose Place, where he was executive producer. A couple of years later, Star invited her to audition for the role of the sex columnist, Kristin claims. She said that the original role of Carrie – eventually portrayed by Sarah Jessica Parker – was “very different” from the one viewers saw.
Kristin tells The Age: “Honestly, none of the four of us are so jaded that we take it for granted. It is amazing that we still get to work together. We are sitting around the same table and chairs as we were in 1997. It still feels right.”

Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon headed back to the ‘80s as they filmed Sex and The City 2 in Manhattan Wednesday.
High-powered attorney Miranda Hobbs was a kultzy law student back in the day. And while Carrie channeled Madonna, Charlotte was more prep than punk — sporting a lime green skirt, matching sweater around her shoulders, and a pair of white tennis shoes and bobby socks.
