Teen starlets Dakota Fanning and Kristen Stewart will share a steamy snog in their upcoming film The Runaways.
Dakota plays blonde rock star Cherie Curie in the biopic about the rise of the ’70s rock band The Runways, while Twilight’s Kristen, 19, is lesbian legend Joan Jett.
“Yes, it happens in The Runaways,” Dakota, 15, told Access Hollywood this week in response to the lesbian kiss whispers — which have been gaining momentum online since July.
“It was passionate. We’re playing Joan Jett and Cherie Curie and they’re best friends in the film and became really close in real life. And that’s something that went down back in the ’70s,” Dakota added. “We were so into the scene and into the script and the characters.”
The always unassuming Kristen Stewart dropped by TODAY Wednesday to chat about the weekend opening of her hotly-anticipated new movie, The Twilight Saga: New Moon.

Forget fame — New Moon’s Kristen Stewart isn’t fond of life in the Hollywood spotlight. Being a superstar isn’t much different from being a vampire, according to the 19-year-old actress.
In a new interview with BlackBook Magazine, Kristen compares her life as a tween icon to that of The Twilight Saga’s Edward Cullen.
“Edward is actually a really good parallel to fame,” Kristen declares. “As a vampire, he has a sad, desolate life — fame is the same.”
Kristen loves to act, but has no desire to become a bigger celebrity, and doesn’t get society’s obsession with the Hollywood’s elite. “I don’t want to be a movie star like Angelina Jolie,” according to Kristen. “Nothing about being a celebrity is desirable. I’m an actor. It’s bizarre to me that everybody’s so obsessive.”
In a tell-all interview with the December issue of Vanity Fair Magazine, Twilight’s Robert Pattinson downplays his rumored real-life relationship with his onscreen love Kristen Stewart.
Pattinson, 23, insist that he and Stewart are “good friends.”
“[We’re] good friends,” Robert told the mag. “I think she’s the best young actress around. She’s influenced how I’ve done all the ‘Twilight’ stuff. It’s quite nice to have someone who is genuinely indifferent to the whole spectacle of everything.”
