Keith Urban and Nicole Kidman were looking cozy and content when they went to see the premiere of Distracted on Sunday afternoon in L.A. I guess they were having a nice little date before Nicole heads back to Sydney to start her first week of filming Australia with co-star Hugh Jackman.

When glamour queens marry country kings, the world wants to know. So when Nicole and Keith wanted a bit of peace to prepare for their wedding (just around the corner!) they had to do something. The choice of these international sex symbols? Send the nosey photojournalists some nice beer and a note that doesn’t actually say, “Would you just piss off?” They are much nicer than me, but then again, Keith is a good ole boy, or the Aussie equivilent. Maybe he just wants to make them his friends!

Although she has tried to duck the spotlight, Nicole Kidman’s every move has been followed by photographers, TV crews and fans in the days leading up to her wedding to Keith Urban.

On Friday, Kidman, Urban and some high-profile guests drove out of her waterfront property amid rumors of a ceremony rehearsal. “The nerves are fine,” the Oscar-winning actress told reporters.

The fine points of the ceremony — expected Sunday night — remain top secret. But Kidman has been gracious and obliging, even sending out a case of beer for the paparazzi camped outside her harborside mansion Tuesday, her 39th birthday. (They sang “Happy Birthday” to her over the intercom.)

Kidman, who was born in Hawaii to Australian parents, and Urban, a country star who was born in New Zealand and raised in Australia, ended months of speculation shortly after arriving in Sydney on Monday.

“We are very happy to be back in Australia,” they said in a joint statement. “We have come home to celebrate our wedding with our family and friends.”

The couple are expected to be married in a Roman Catholic ceremony at a gothic-style stone church overlooking Sydney’s Manly beach.

Local media have predicted an extravagant, black-tie affair with a guest list that includes Kidman’s longtime friend Naomi Watts, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman and “Moulin Rouge” director Baz Luhrmann.

As for her dress, Kidman is likely to wear a design by Balenciaga, her preferred fashion house.

The Rev. Paul Coleman, a family friend and pastor, reportedly will preside over the ceremony. He met with the couple this week and said he was confident their marriage would be happy.

“You’ve got to rely on their maturity and knowledge of each other and I’m impressed,” Coleman told Sydney’s The Daily Telegraph.

Coleman said he would advise the couple to “make time for each other, do romantic things together and never part without kissing,” the newspaper reported.

It will be the first marriage for Urban, 38, who is based in Nashville, Tenn. Kidman divorced Tom Cruise in 2001 after 10 years of marriage. She and Cruise have two children, Isabella, 13, and Connor, 10, who are expected to attend the ceremony.

Isn’t Nicole Kidman, Tom Cruise’s ex that he secretly paid off to keep his gayness secret? I mean I never understood why Tommy Cruise doesn’t want the world to know he’s “Happy”.

So this is totally going to be Nicole’s first real hubby. Woot Woot.

Nicole Kidman, who is expected to wed Keith Urban this weekend, said she planned a “boring” 39th birthday with family Tuesday.

Kidman emerged from a luxurious harborside mansion to greet about 20 reporters and photographers who had brought flowers and sang “Happy Birthday” to her over the intercom.

“Thank you for the flowers and the singing,” she said, before posing for photographs. “It’s nice to be home.”

Asked how she planned to spend her birthday, Kidman replied: “Not much, dinner at home with mum — boring.”

Kidman said she was embarrassed by all the attention.

Later, she sent bottles of water and a case of beer out to the media with an attached note saying: “Enjoy! Nicole and Keith,” the Australian Associated Press reported.

Kidman and Urban are reportedly staying in separate residences in the days prior to their wedding, which is expected to be a black-tie event involving a tight circle of friends and family.

Guests have been told to keep their schedules free from Friday to Monday, as they will be given only 24 hours notice as to the time and location, local media said.

It will be Urban’s first marriage, but the second for Kidman, who was divorced from Tom Cruise in 2001 after 10 years of marriage.

Her two children, Isabella, 13, and Connor, 11, are expected to arrive later this week, the Australian Associated Press reported Tuesday.

Kidman won an Oscar for her portrayal of Virginia Woolf in 2002’s “The Hours.” Urban, who is based in Nashville, Tenn., won a Grammy this year for best male country vocal performance for “You’ll Think of Me.”
